Accomplishments:
• Installation of Building Automation System throughout entire main hospital
complex ($1.5 million)
• Space modification and installation of new 3T MRI unit ($950 k)
• Capital Construction of two new buildings housing 8 additional new OR suites,
Intensive Care units, N+1 Server Room, New Research Lab Space, Pathology
Department, Morgue, County Medical Examiner space and many support offices.
(Responsibilities included review and approval of design documents,
modifications and change orders, daily safety inspections, Interim Life Safety and
Infection Control documentation, punch lists, coordination of signage and way-
finding, utility and fire system shut down coordination with existing complex
designed to minimize disruption of service to existing operation) ($450 m)

Became an MSCNE (Microsoft Certified Network Engineer) as well as Certified in
Novel Networks Engineer
While assigned there, I also traveled regularly to other hospital facilities all over the
country for ServiceMaster and helped trouble shoot Network and Operational concerns.
Accomplishments:
• Installation of new dedicated computer network for Facility Operations to support
CMMS system, Fire device system, Emergency Radio communication system,
Boiler Plant Operation system and total facility Building Automation System. ($6
m)
• Hundreds of In-house remodeling projects

• Training of all Facility Operations personnel in use of new CMMS system

Hospital)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Facility Information: 1100 Licensed Beds, Trauma Center, Main Hospital Complex and
multiple off site clinic and support buildings totaling approximately 1.7 million square
feet.
ServiceMaster was hired to support them in the process of gaining re-accreditation status
with JCAHO. I was the on-site consultant who worked with administration and the 19
different union shops in installing maintenance tracking systems, training employees and
implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Accomplishments:
• Installed Computer network infrastructure to support new CMMS system.
• Trained approximately 110 Maintenance trades workers in the proper use and
documentation of maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Worked with ServiceMaster programmers to make modifications to their
proprietary maintenance software to better meet the functional needs of the Plant
Operations Department for regulatory documentation needs.
• Was able to reduce staffing levels in the maintenance department by 29 FTE’s
(through attrition) while increasing the response time and efficiency of the
Maintenance Department.
• Improved cross-union communications and task accomplishments designed to
improve equipment down time and improve efficiency.
• Acquired successful Accreditation Status with the JCAHO and support by the
Department of Health of Cook County.
The ServiceMaster Company (Various Assignments)

Facility Information: This varied from assignment to assignment ranging from 100 bed
licensed Nursing Homes to 250 licensed bed Acute Care Hospital in the Chicago area.
Project Accomplishments:
Prototyped the installation of ServiceMaster’s first on-site Computerized Maintenance
system while at Swedish Covenant Hospital as the Director of Engineering and
Environmental Services (1984)
I Repaired and documented failures in Critical Medical Gas Systems while at Booth
Memorial Hospital as the Director of Engineering and negotiated payment from the
Oxygen Supplier to reimburse the hospital for over $50,000 in repairs and Oxygen costs
due to their negligence.

I have extensive knowledge in regulatory compliance with organizations and programs
such as TJC (formerly JCAHO), DOH, NFPA, NEC, EPA, ICRA, ILSM and ADA. I am
a strong team player and I am very people oriented. I have excellent communication
skills, both verbal and written.
Certified Network Engineer
Skill Level: Experienced
I was a certified MSCNE and also with NOVELL. During the 9 years I was at Oregon
Health Sciences University, I was responsible for not only the implementation of the
Plant Maintenance Program, but installing and networking all of the facilities
Maintenance Zones and Off Site locations under one tracking capability. I have since let
this certification expire, because I wanted to get back to direct management of people. I
still understand the computer systems operations and can help in determining and
recommending software and hardware upgrades as well as needs for supporting
upcoming technology changes.
Certified Crystal Reports Developer
Skill Level: Expert
I became certified as a Crystal Reports Developer in 1994. I use this program to develop
specific customized reports to meet the facilities reporting needs. This program is a data
retrieval program that works with most any database system and allows very specific
customization of data reporting.

I have extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access and
Power Point)

ServiceMaster was hired to support them in the process of gaining re-accreditation status with JCAHO. I was the on-site consultant who worked with administration and the 19 different union shops in installing maintenance tracking systems, training employees and implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Accomplishments: • Installed Computer network infrastructure to support new CMMS system. • Trained approximately 110 Maintenance trades workers in the proper use and documentation of maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling. • Worked with ServiceMaster programmers to make modifications to their proprietary maintenance software to better meet the functional needs of the Plant Operations Department for regulatory documentation needs. • Was able to reduce staffing levels in the maintenance department by 29 FTE’s (through attrition) while increasing the response time and efficiency of the Maintenance Department. • Improved cross-union communications and task accomplishments designed to improve equipment down time and improve efficiency. • Acquired successful Accreditation Status with the JCAHO and support by the Department of Health of Cook County. Project Accomplishments: Prototyped the installation of ServiceMaster’s first on-site Computerized Maintenance system while at Swedish Covenant Hospital as the Director of Engineering and Environmental Services (1984) I Repaired and documented failures in Critical Medical Gas Systems while at Booth Memorial Hospital as the Director of Engineering and negotiated payment from the Oxygen Supplier to reimburse the hospital for over $50,000 in repairs and Oxygen costs due to their negligence. I have extensive knowledge in regulatory compliance with organizations and programs such as TJC (formerly JCAHO), DOH, NFPA, NEC, EPA, ICRA, ILSM and ADA. I am a strong team player and I am very people oriented. I have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Certified Network Engineer Skill Level: Experienced I was a certified MSCNE and also with NOVELL. During the 9 years I was at Oregon Health Sciences University, I was responsible for not only the implementation of the Plant Maintenance Program, but installing and networking all of the facilities Maintenance Zones and Off Site locations under one tracking capability. I have since let this certification expire, because I wanted to get back to direct management of people. I still understand the computer systems operations and can help in determining and recommending software and hardware upgrades as well as needs for supporting upcoming technology changes. Certified Crystal Reports Developer Skill Level: Expert I became certified as a Crystal Reports Developer in 1994. I use this program to develop specific customized reports to meet the facilities reporting needs. This program is a data retrieval program that works with most any database system and allows very specific
