To Whom it May Concern:
Re: Mark Dixon
I am writing to provide a Letter of Reference to Mark Dixon whom I have known professionally for two years.
Mark came to NorQuest College as the Manager, Marketing Services - a role which, since inception 4 years prior,
was experiencing difficulty establishing itself within our inStitution. The challenge has enabled Mark to
strengthen his natural abilities to lead a division of creative, diverse individuals while concurrently 'educating' the
broader College community on marketing strategies, practices and processes that would add value to their
operations. He has left us a 'better place' in these regards.
Mark has the natural leadership abilities for 'coaching', educating, administering to. and motivating employees
within his division. He was able to imbue in his staff a sense of loyalty to the division and the institution. and a
commitment [o successful achievement of their objectives. Service to clients needed to be balanced with
budgetary and operational constraints - which Mark generally managed well. However, there were occasioRs
where he enabled us to 'push the envelope' with concepts and strategies new to our marketing mix * and
challenging to our budgetary and operational resources.
I found Mark always open to ideas and constructive suggestion. He worked well with oui rnanagement tearn and
myself in developing plans, strategies, proposals, and implementation actions to rnest intemal client needs. One
notable outcome was the tjrst-ever comprehensive Marketing Plan document that was generally then followed
through toward achieving our marketing objectives. His interpersonalcommunicalions skills and solid corporate
instincts assisted him in readily being accepted as a part of our managbment group anb the resjdent "expert' in his
field.
Will Mark bring loyalty, dedication, a solid work ethic, and humor to your wogkplaeqas he focuses on helping
you achieve your business goals? Absolutely.
Will Mark challenge you to dedicate appropriate resources and attention to the marketing and communications of
the 'deliverables' of your organization to your clients? Without fail - but then he'll work within the parameters
assigned.
Would I hire him again? In a minute
If you wish more in-depth consultation regarding Mark's ability to meet the responsibilities of a role you are
contemplating for him. t would be pleased to discuss that with you at your convenience.
