Plagiarism and Copyright
Plagiarism is not the same as copyright infringement (different concepts)
Plagiarism = an attempt to present someone else’s work, ideas, expressions, etc. as one’s
own work
Copyright infringement = a violation of the rights of a copyright holder, when material
restricted by copyright is used without consent.
Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty or academic fraud, and offenders are normally
subject to disciplinary proceedings.
