The Samburu Project drilled and equipped a shallow well at Sereolipi Primary School in Northern Kenya thanks to a donation from the Nimick Forbesway Foundation. This provides clean drinking water for the school's 750 students and staff, as well as community members. Students no longer have to search long distances for water and can focus on their studies instead of fetching water. The well also allows for improved sanitation, cooking, washing, farming, and decreased water-borne illness. The Samburu Project plans future projects like school gardening at Sereolipi to provide nutrition and teach sustainable farming.

What are our plans for the project in the future?
The Samburu Project remains committed to supporting
communities through wells and other water-related
projects. Potential future projects at Sereolipi Primary
School include:
•School gardening: this will provide students with
nutritious dietary variety, as well as the opportunity to
learn sustainable farming practices.
•Based on the success of the Pittsburgh Walk for
Water, we plan to make this an annual event,
increasing awareness of this severe need and raising
funds for future wells.
Challenges and Lessons Learned
Upon our arrival at the Sereolipi community, we
found that another organization had previously
promised to build a well, only to back out later.
Because of this, community members were
skeptical about our project. However, our project
