The group in a collaborative way creates a Slide-Share Presentation and consolidates the translation of the text “Smart Energy Reading”, the texts of the reflections regarding the problems faced during the process of translation and the chart with the meanings of a method, strategy, and technique, and their examples.

PARAGRAPH 1
The next few decades will see great changes in the way
energy is supplied and used. In some major oil
producing nations, 'peak oil' has already been reached,
and there are increasing fears of global warming.
Consequently, many countries are focusing on the
switch to a low carbon economy. This transition will
lead to major changes in the supply and use of
electricity. Firstly, there will be an increase in overall
demand, as consumers switch from oil and gas to
electricity to power their homes and vehicles.
Secondly, there will be an increase in power
generation, not only in terms of how much is
generated, but also how it is generated, as there is
growing electricity generation from renewable
sources. To meet these challenges, countries are
investing in Smart Grid technology. This system aims to
provide the electricity industry with a better
understanding of power generation and demand, and
to use this information to create a more efficient
power network.

3. PARAGRAPH 2
Smart Grid technology basically involves the
application of a computer system to the
electricity network. The computer system can be
used to collect information about supply and
demand and improve engineer's ability to
manage the system. With better information
about electricity demand, the network will be
able to increase the amount of electricity
delivered per unit generated, leading to potential
reductions in fuel needs and carbon emissions.
Moreover, the computer system will assist in
reducing operational and maintenance costs.
PARRAFO 2

4. PARAGRAPH 3
Smart Grid technology offers benefits to the consumer
too. They will be able to collect real-time information
on their energy use for each appliance. Varying tariffs
throughout the day will give customers the incentive
to use appliances at times when supply greatly
exceeds demand, leading to great reductions in bills.
For example, they may use their washing machines at
night. Smart meters can also be connected to the
internet or telephone system, allowing customers to
switch appliances on or off remotely. Furthermore, if
houses are fitted with the apparatus to generate their
own power, appliances can be set to run directly from
the on-site power source, and any excess can be sold
to the grid.
PARRAFO 3

5. Task 2: Reflection
1. Margarita Narváez Serna
It was very easy to understand the paragraph because the words already knew them, however I had some complications
with some words with which it was necessary to use the dictionary to see other translations to adapt them to the theme
of the text and not to modify the style and meaning of the text. "Smart network" was a term I had never heard before,
so I researched and found its meaning in Spanish, so I continued to do the literal translation, always verifying that the
translation retained the syntax, style and meaning of the original text.
2. Laura Daniela Arcila
For the translation of the paragraph I chose, I used the technique of literal translation in almost all the text that consists of translating word for
word, achieving a text in the target language as correct as idiomatic. And the translation of a phrase with the technique of tracing that is when a
translator creates or uses a neologism in the target language by adopting the structure of the language of origin.
3. Sandra Milena Manchola
I know that the easiest way to find an unknown word is to look it on a dictionary, however, when translating techniques take a huge
influence on that, this is the reflexion I have gotten after finishing the process. In the beginning, I was wondering if using or not the
technique of borrowing when translating “smart grid technology” then I found out the Spanish version of that type of technology and I
preferred using transposition technique to give a better understanding in Spanish, as well as when translating “varying tariffs”. For the
rest of the text I mostly used literal translation depending on the Spanish language structure. I still think I did not well translate the
sentence “... and any excess can be sold to the grid” since for me it seems like “ningún exceso puede entrar en la red” however, I
preferred to translate it literal.
6. METHOD STRATEGY TECHNIQUE
DEFINITION DEFINITION DEFINITION
strategies and tools that are used to achieve a
specific objective, usually represents an
instrumental means by which the works of
everyday life are performed
Is a specific type of action, planned and carried out
in order to achieve concrete objectives.
The action chosen between different alternatives
foreseen after knowing the objective of a task, the
conditions of the situation and the available
resources, is carried out attending to the
development of the changing conditions that are
generated

To improve communication in the classroom, all
teachers and classmates should provide "feedback"
to students, to let them know if they are
responding in the way expected, is what we do

each section figures or images of food and things
are placed. The game begins by distributing the
cards among the children and they are placed in
such a way that each new piece obeys the
association criteria created by the children and
that the children must play when they play.
For example: the apple and the tree, with the

DIFFERENCE METHOD-
STRATEGY:
Unlike the method, the strategy
is flexible and can take shape
based on the goals you want to
reach
DIFFERENCE: TECHNICAL-METHOD:
The Method is only the way in which something
is done, with order and following certain
principles, for that reason in pedagogy it is
spoken of constuctvista method, humanist,
behaviorist, etc. The technique refers to the tools
that are used to get the knowledge.
DIFFERENCE: TECHNICAL-
STRATEGIES:
The didactic techniques are
considered as procedures that lend
themselves to helping to carry out a
part of the learning that is pursued
with the strategy. The activities are
pate of the techniques and are specific
actions that facilitate the execution of
the technique.
