2. ABSTRACT
This project is worked under by the scotch yoke mechanism.
scotch yoke mechanism convert the rotary motion into the
reciprocating motion. The machine has the prime mover at the
bottom of the machine pulley is attached to the body at the
top and the end of the side portion, pulley is connected with
the disc type plate, pulley and the disc has separate
connection with the one small metal rod through the bearing,
motor and pulley is connected with one V-type belt, clamp is
fixed with the disc. The clamp is fixed with the two shaft at the
two end, each shaft is act the reciprocating motion through
the each shaft. Hack saw connected to the each shaft at the
end, the motor is turned on the pulley is getting rotating motion
that rotation motion is convert into the reciprocating motion by
the disc under the “Scotch Yoke Mechanism”
4. INTRODUCTION
This project is about cutting the wood, metal, pipe,
angle, channel, flat plates, rods and such other things.
It is very simple mechanism but very useful to
produce the many type of component in less time.
The main advantage of project is produce four part in
single time.
6. HACKSAW
A saw with a narrow
fine-toothed blade set in a
frame, used especially for
cutting metal. They can also
cut various other materials,
such as plastic and wood.
8. COPING SAW
Coping saws are used to
remove complicated shapes and
cut curves in wood and plastic.
9. TENON SAW
Tenon saws are used to
make straight cuts in wood
and occasionally some
plastics.
10. RIP-SAW
Large panels or sheets of
materials, for example
plywood or MDF, require
larger ripsaws in order to cut
them by hand.
Ripsaws are used to cut
along the grain of large panels
of real timber.
11. ELECTRIC MOTOR
An electric motor is an electrical
machine that converts electrical
energy into mechanical energy.
12. MODEL FRAME
Model frame is the main
supporting structure of the model to
which all the component are attached.
13. SCOTCH YOKE MECHANISM
The Scotch yoke is a reciprocating
motion mechanism, converting the
linear motion of a slider
into rotational motion, or vice versa.
14. WORKING
Working principle of hacksaw machine is very
simple.it works on scotch yoke mechanism. First of
all the hacksaw machine is put on ground and after
that the whatever metal , wood, pvc, is cut is fixed
on vice at required length, after that the electric
motor is connect with electricity.
15. Now start the electric motor so due to that
the shaft of motor and hollow disc will be
rotate and also rotate the eccentric center and
link connect to it.
Due to rotation of links the hacksaw frame
will be reciprocate on the metal and cutting of
metal is done.
16. ADVANTAGES
Weight of machine is less.
It reduce the work of labor.
Easy to make because of simple construction.
High production rate.
Cost is less.
18. CONCLUSION
We learnt how the theoretical design is
possible in practical. Other hacksaw machine is
only cut one part at one time but this machine cut
the duple part at a time, this hacksaw machine
has lighter weight compare to other machine.
The cost of machine is less and easy to operate
so it affordable for all industry.
19. FUTURE SCOPE
We try to change the speed of
motor for cutting the different
metal at various speed if it
possible.
