Work Experience: 2 years
Key skills: Chemical engineer, Process engineering, Polymer Production Planning and supervision, shift in charge,
Quality control, 5S, Product Development and Scale up of new Projects.
Job Description:
Production planning and supervision as Shift In charge of flexible Polyurethane foam.
Ensuring the availability of raw materials and their quality for smooth flow of production.
Scale up of new process from lab scale to commercial in Polymer product Development as per application.
Coordinate with Associates according to the production plan for chemicals temperature conditioning, chemicals
preparation, dilution, Proper Mixing and ensure proper Machine settings for the Foaming Machine.
Calibration of pumps for the flow rate needed for foaming in case of problems exist in pumps of gear, piston,
screw pumps and flow meters.
Worked with chillers, plate type heat exchangers, for chemical temperature conditioning.
Had the knowledge of stirrers, bucket conveyors, Pressurized tanks and level sensors.
Knowledge of polymer materials, Catalyst, surfactants and fillers used in polymerization reactions.
Analyzing the effect of catalysts, chemicals, Temperature, pressure of chemicals and humidity on polymerization
reaction and varying them according to the properties needed.
Troubles shoot and controlling the production process problems.
Quality control of foam according to customer specifications like porosity, hardness, density and resilience.
Working with R&D department for product development and new grades in Foam for different applications
Done the production Department as model area following the norms of 5S.
Member of Yield improvement Team for Maximize yield in production.
Working with in the norms of Fire and Safety in production Dept to eliminate chemical hazards.
Projects covered:
1. Recovery of Methylene chloride by using Distillation column from the mixture of chemicals
Description:
Methylene Chloride flush (MC flush is to clean the raw material inlet line of foaming machine) is being
collected after each production run which is going as waste.
2. Distillation of Flushed chemical mixture (Flush is to clean pipe line) was done to separate the Methylene chloride
based on boiling points.
70% was recovered and save the cost of 71,000 per annum/ plant.
2. Development of Digital Manometer to check the porosity of Foam during the production time with ease of
access , better compatibility with low cost.
Description:
U-tube Manometer was used to check the porosity of foam which has certain disadvantages like, shading
of liquid, display in poor light, over flow of liquid upon the exert of air pressure and Handling.
Digital Manometer was developed for the application which is less cost and cross the barriers.
3. Estimation of Porosity of Foam blocks using the data of exothermic reactions temperature data.
4. Automation of Chemical temperature conditioning in Tanks is in progress
