Prior to delivery or final installation, clients want to ensure that their equipment or plant operates as
intended and meets all the contractual requirements. For this reason it is necessary to conduct a
Factory Acceptance Test to ensure high quality and integrity of the equipment /plant. Unfortunately,
some vendors are not always properly prepared for a Factory Acceptance Test, and the testing
procedure is sometimes rushed, in order to ship the equipment as soon as possible. A highly qualified,
independent third party can support the vendor by performing a Factory Acceptance Test, or by
witnessing its appropriate execution on behalf of the buyer.

The Factory Acceptance Test provided by SGS is a customized testing procedure for equipment and
plants. The test is executed before final installation or prior to delivery. Although testing is not a
requirement, it is recommended carry it out.
The Factory Acceptance Test by SGS includes a check of completeness, proof of functionality and a
verification of all important documents, such as manuals, instructions, plans, drawings, piping and
instrumentation diagrams (P&Ids)
