2. Background
• Gandaki province is one of the seven federal
provinces established by the current constitution of Nepal which
was formation on 20 September 2015.
• Pokhara is the province's capital city.
• It borders the Tibet of China to the north, Province no. 3 to the
east, Karnali Pardes to the west and Province 5 and Uttar
Pardes of India to the south.

• Coordinates: 27°-20' N ~ 29°-20' N latitude & 82° 52' E ~ 85°-12' E longitude
• Area: 21,733 sq. km (14.66% of total country’s area and 4th rank) ,
• Capital: Pokhara (Largest Metropolitan city with 33 wards)
• Population : 24,03,014 (9.06% of total country's population and 6th rank)
• Districts: 11 , HDI : 0.567 , Literacy: 74.81%
• Metropolitan city:1, Municipality:26, Rural Municipality:58, Wards:759
• Language : Nepali (61.19%), Gurung (14.68%), Magar (12.8%)
• Religion:Hinduism(82.89%) Buddhism(13.68%) Christianity (1.56%)
• Ethinicity:Brahmins(21.5%), Magar(20.9%),Chhetri(13.4%),Gurung(8.4%)

5. Objectives
• To access disasters in Gandaki Province.
• To analyze disaster sample data in seven districts.
• To formulate sample data analytically & statically.

6. Administrative Division
The Governor acts as the head of the province while the Chief
Minister is the head of the provincial government. The Chief Judge
of the Pokhara High Court is the head of the judiciary. The present
Governor, Chief Minister and Chief Judge are Baburam
Kunwar (governor), Prithvi Subba Gurung (chief minister) and
Purushottam Bhandari (chief judge).The province has
60 provincial assembly constituencies and 18 federal House of
Representative constituencies.

7. Administrative Sub-Division
Gandaki province is divided into 11 districts.
A district is administrated by the head of the District Coordination
Committee and the District Administration Officer.
The districts are further dived to municipalities and rural municipalities
which include 1 metropolitan city and 26 municipalities and 58 rural
municipalities.

According to Gandaki Province, geographical region is divided
into three regions: Terai, Hill and Mountain

15. Conclusion
• More disaster samples are taken in Nawalparasi District.
• Unexpected higher price is the main problem in Gandaki Province
• All types of disaster is occurred in Nawalpur District.
• Maximum disaster occurrence is observed in the year 2072.
• Disasters are observed occurring multiple times in a year.
• Mainly Government and NGO’s are involving for support in post
disasters.
