Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) are most developing formulations of nanotechnology with several applications in different fields like drug delivery, clinical medicine and research as well as in other varied sciences. SLN are defined as the spherical particles of nanometer range which immersed in water or aqueous surfactant solution either using lipophilic and hydrophilic drug. Solid lipid nanoparticle technology represents a promising new approach to lipophilic drug delivery.

Liposome are the most widely used and the most extensively marketed nano-formulation that is being manufactured by pharmaceutical industries. Liposome can be modified in different size and structure. Conjugation of ligend with liposome surface increase the target specificity and changes the pharmacokinetic distribution of encapsulated drug. Different methods of preparation can produce different types of liposomes. Many marketed formulations are available as liposome and has proved to be more useful than the conventional formulations. Antibiotics of different classes such as quinolones, aminoglycosides, beta-lactams, cephalosporins, retroviral, macrolides and polypeptides are associated with the shortcomings of drug toxicities, lower bioavailability as well as bacterial resistance. A proper drug delivery system can circumvent these drawbacks. The liposome can prove to be a big stride towards abolishment of these drawbacks. The disadvantage associated with this novel delivery system should also be understood and prevented by means of proper scientific methods for a betterment of human health and society.

Proteins are kind of natural molecules that show unique functionalities and properties in biological materials and manufacturing feld. Tere are numerous nanomaterials which are derived from protein, albumin, and gelatin. Tese nanoparticles have promising properties like biodegradability, nonantigenicity, metabolizable, surface modifer, greater stability during in vivo during storage, and being relatively easy to prepare and monitor the size of the particles. These particles have the ability to attach covalently with drug and ligand

Microspheres are spherical & free flowing particles ranging in average particle size from 1 to 50 microns which consist of proteins or synthetic polymers. Some of the problems of overcome by producing control drug delivery system which enhances the therapeutic efficacy of a given drug. One such approach is using microspheres as carriers for drugs. The target site drug deliver with Specificity & maintain the concentration at site of interest without untoward effects. It will find the central place in novel drug delivery. Drugs can be targeted to specific sites in the body using microspheres. Degree of targeting can be achieved by localization of the drug to a specific area in body (for example in lungs), to a particular group of cells and even to the intracellular structures. The rate of drug release from the microspheres dictates their therapeutic action.
