- My role – Deputy Learning Technology Manager – organise the LT Training. About 4000 students – 500 teaching Staff High percentage of sessional staff – many who teach at several different universities. Most of the LT training has been done face to face.
- Previously I have been involved in two online staff training courses. I was a facilitator on the BYOD4L course at the start of this year – convinced me of the possibility of running a short course over 5 days. Next I set up a online course on Twitter for staff at Regent’s University – 10 Days of Twitter for Regent’s University London. This course was originally written by Helen Webster at Anglia Ruskin University and as the name implies it was run over 10 days – run through a Wordress Blog. It was successful for 3 reasons: Participation – over 50 members of staff contributed (amazed) Results from survey – asking for other short courses Informal feedback
- Organised 3 Short Open Online Courses First of these is ‘12 apps of Christmas’… 4th to 19th December Each day there will be a new post describing the ‘app of the day’, how it can be used and a small task. Open Education by Blackboard – Blackboard’s new MOOC platform.
