3. The Factories Act of 1948
• The Act prohibits the
employment of children below
the age of 14 years in any factory.
• The law also placed rules on who,
when and how long can pre-
adults aged 15–18 years be
employed in any factory.
• It is a cognizable criminal offence
to employ a Child for any work.

4. The Mines Act of 1952
According to Indian laws that
are in place, children below
the age of 18 years are not
allowed to be employed in
any mine, which comes under
the list of hazardous
occupations,

5. The Juvenile justice(care &protection) of children Act 2000
• 2001 April 1
• To provide a special approach to
the protection and treatment of
juveniles.
• To establish norms and standards
for administration of juvenile
justice.
• This act fails to express min age.
• There is no concept of parental
responsibilities.

employment of any
person who has not
completed his fourteenth
year of age in
occupations and
processes enlisted in Part
A and B of the Schedule
of the Act.

8. The child labour (prohibition&regulation
)Amendment Act of 2016
• Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition
and Regulation) Act, 1986
• A complete prohibition has been
imposed on employment of child labour
(i.e. a person below the age of 14 years)
in any establishment whether hazardous
or not.

10. Penalties
• Shall be punished with
imprisonment for a terms of less
than 3 month and upto one year.
• And fine is less than 10, 000 and
up to 20, 000
