Question 6
1. What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
2. Adobe Photoshop:
I had never previously used Photoshop which was clear from my preliminary
task. When I moved onto my actual magazine pages I learnt many skills on
Photoshop over time that took time to learn but when I did grasp them they
looked much more effective.
one tool that enjoyed learning how to use was making an outline around the
fonts to make them bold and stand out effectively. I did this by using the
stroke/structure tool. By doing this is made my font look bolder and have more
depth.
I used tools and skills such as how to use different fonts, use effects, make
background colours disappear, layer images and more. I learnt many more
advance skills from Photoshop that I could use effectively in the future.
I had also never used InDesign before and found it more difficult to use than
Photoshop. I used InDesign for my double page spread, it was easy to layer
images and text but wasn’t as good when coming to editing photos and text
formats. I did enjoy getting to know the software as I used it. I also had to
export the images and then turn them into JPEG’s this was a simple easy
process. Doing this allowed me to post these images on my blog to the highest
possible quality.
3. Survey monkey:
Survey monkey was a site I had never used before, it was actually very convenient in order
to find out key information and market research from my audience. This way I gathered
information that allowed me to create a magazine my audience wanted instead of
something that didn’t fit my market research. Survey monkey was simple and effective to
use as it was straight forward. Another good use of survey monkey was the way of
presenting my after results, I could view them as pie charts, graphs, bar charts and many
other ways in order to present my results.
Slide Share:
Slide share has been a very useful site in order to present my information
from collecting my survey results, my market research of magazines and my
evaluation. It was a simple way of showing my information and a great way
to out it onto my blog so it is easy to view.
4. Blogger
Blogger was one of the main aspects in presenting my blog. I created a blogger account in
order to present my magazine effectively. This was a simple way to upload all my work so
that it can be view simplistically but also effectively. On my blog is all my information from
my preliminary, my market research, pitch plan, survey results, links, magazine pages and
my evaluation. I had never used blogger before but I found it a very simple and effective as I
could use it on my computer and on my phone, it was a great way to present my work.
