PSYCHE means soul or mind
and LOGOS which means to
study.
So basically, PSYCHOLOGY
means the study of the
“soul” or “mind”.

psychology defined
as the scientific
study of behavior
and mental
processes.

4. The history of Psychology is the
history of thought about
consciousness and conduct.
It has its roots in ancient Greek
Philosophy, such as epistemology
(the philosophy of knowing,
metaphysics, religion and oriental
philosophy).

conceptions which is:
• Phenomenological ( experiential )
• Mechanistic ( physiological )
It is related to the theories which
explain phenomena in purely physical
or deterministic terms.

Was a German physician,

He entered the field of philosophy
