7. For us, being green is
standard practice.
We understand that many industrial practices have a negative
impactontheworldaroundusandthatthisisagrowingconcern
withconsumers.Itisbecauseofthisthatourambitiontocreate
a zero waste policy has been at the heart of our business for
many years. Ecotile is an ISO 14001 certified company with an
ongoing environmental management system.
Unlike most traditional flooring,
Ecotile is 100% recyclable. At the
end of their life-span tiles can
be granulated and re-used to
manufacture more tiles.
As an environmentally responsible
company we will arrange to collect
any excess material, old tiles or off-
cuts completely free of charge.
We use a unique manufacturing
process that allows us to optimise
the use of recycled material and
significantly reduce the energy
required to produce tiles. The
twin shot injection moulding
process requires far less energy
than traditional injection moulding
processes.
What About VOCs?
Volatile Organic Compounds or
VOCs are organic chemicals that
have a high vapour pressure at
room temperature. This causes
molecules to evaporate or separate
from the solid compound and enter
the surrounding air. This can be
toxic.
Volatile Organic Compounds are
something we take very seriously
here at Ecotile, and whilst trace
elements are unavoidable from
modifiers and non PVC based
additives, we work hard to ensure
our VOC levels are significantly
less than any other resin based or
conventional flooring systems.
8. We have created simple and reliable
solutions for both commercial and
heavy industrial envrionments.
9. E500/5 A light duty tile
Ecotile 500/5 is the entry level version of the Ecotile
floor range. The thinnest of our tiles (5mm), designed for
commercial, domestic and light industrial applications.
The tiles are quick and simple to install over any hard
surface to create a tough and hardwearing floor that will
help to reduce dust and noise and improve the appearance
of your facility.
The E500/5 is only suitable for foot traffic and will not be
able to withstand vehicle traffic (over 350 kg) or heavy
impact.
10. E500/6 The hidden joint tile for commerce
The Ecotile 500/6 has a hidden joint with a push fit seam
and bevelled edge. The tile gives a similar appearance to
a traditional vinyl finish. The 6mm tile was designed to
provide an alternative for customers who do not want or
like the visible open joint design.
The hidden dovetail joint offers better protection to water
ingress and is therefore more popular within shops,
commerce and similar environments. This tile is not
recommended in high traffic or industrial areas.
12. E500/7 The original interlocking tile
Ecotile 500/7 is the original loose lay interlocking floor tile.
It is 7mm thick with an open joint dovetail design. Ideal for
the vast majority of applications, Ecotile 500/7 is a heavy
duty floor covering that can withstand high point loading,
impact and vibration. Suitable for vehicle traffic including
fork lift trucks (as a guide up to 3.5 ton unladen weight).
In addition, The E500/7 offers good thermal and
acoustic insulation and excellent resistance to impact
and vibration. It is most popular in warehouses, factories
and garages.
14. E500/10 The ultra heavy duty tile
The ultra-heavy duty interlocking floor tile is exceptionally
tough, resistant to impact, heavy loads and high traffic
movements. E500/10 is the highest specification tile we
produce. As with the entire range, it is designed to be
loose laid and quick and simple to install.
Ecotile 500/10 can be used to repair and protect existing
busy warehouse and factory floors where access time is
limited.
The 10mm tile has been used in aircraft hangars, fire
stations, passenger terminals & engineering plants.
16. ESD conductive or dissipative floor tiles
Ecotile ESD floor tiles are a static dissipative or
conductive flooring system designed for use in areas where
components or individuals need to be protected from the
risk of electrostatic damage. This includes electronic
sub-assembly areas or facilities where combustible/
explosive materials are handled, typically in an industrial
or manufacturing environment.
The conductive properties of ecotile ESD floors will last
for the lifetime of the tile and if grounded and maintained
in accordance with our instructions the tiles will create
a safe conductive floor surface that can be used as your
primary ground.
BS EN 61340-5 / IEC 61340 Approved.
18. Floor signs and logos.
Add impact to your floor by incorporating permanent floor
markings. Ecotile Flooring are able to incorporate almost
any logo or image into your floor to create a permanent
and highly visual sign or message. The logo tiles are
manufactured by a CNC water laser jet machine which
ensures a clean and precise cut.
Statutory Health and Safety Regulations require every
company to display the appropriate health and safety signs
throughout the workplace. We are able to manufacture the
full range of warning signs (black & yellow), prohibitory
signs (red & white) and mandatory signs (blue and white).
19. How is the E500 range
made?
EachEcotileisinjectionmouldedusingeithervirginorrecycled
material depending on the product. All recycled material
is strictly controlled and graded. The recycled material we
use has a lower filler content (fillers are particles added to
material) than the virgin material used by our competitors.
Therefore our tiles are more durable, less likely to mark or
scuff, and are guaranteed not to warp or deform.
Most floor coverings only have a
limited life span due to wear or are
scrapped for refurbishment. The
majority of waste floor coverings
will end up in landfill causing
contamination and damage to the
environment.
This is because once a floor has
been adhered to the floor, it cannot
be re-used. Not only can our tiles
be recycled, there is also a strong
market for pre-owned tiles, so you
can rest assured that when the
time comes to replace your floor it
will not end up in landfill.
Our recycled range of tiles are
made from regranulated Ecotile.
They are dyed either graphite or
black at our factory. The granulate
is then transported and follows the
same manufacturing process as our
other tiles.
The majority of the Ecotile range is
manufactured from pre-dyed virgin
PVC pellets.
The pellets are transported via
hoses into our injection moulding
machine where they are turned
into a liquid PVC.
The liquid is then injected into a
mould and a tile is created. One
of our programmed robotic arms
carries the tile to a drying rack
where it is left to cool for several
minutes.
Once cool, the robotic arm will lift
the tile and place it carefully on top
of the other finished tiles.
When a cycle is complete, the tiles
are transported to storage racks by
our factory team and are ready to
be packaged and distributed.
20. Introducing Lifestyle: The all-weather tile
LIfestyle is manufactured from polypropylene; a 100%
recyclable thermoplastic polymer that has been UV
stabilised.
To accommodate for harsh weather, the tile has been
designed with a structured linear system of holes that allow
water to drain away. They also enable excellent airflow
whichhelpsthetilestostaycoolinfluctuatingtemperatures
– A perfect solution for swimming pool surrounds that get
really hot & hard to walk on in hot countries.
Ideal solution for outdoor events, exhibitions, pool
surrounds & sports courts.
22. Ecotile products use unique interlocking
joints that can be connected together with
a tap of a mallet. The tiles can be cut with a
guillotine, Stanley knife or a table saw with a
medium blade.
Installation
Unlike epoxy resin, polyurethane,
floor paint and other intrusive
flooring products, Ecotile flooring
can be laid directly over almost any
hard surface.
Cracking, paint delamination,
preparation, dust, dirt, damp &
contamination problems can all be
eliminated with a quick and simple
flooring solution.
In the majority of cases, Ecotile
can be installed without adhesives,
screeds or membranes.
Our product is well-known for the
way it can be loose laid quickly,
easily and without the need for
specialist tools.
23. Over the last 20 years we have worked with some of the world’s largest businesses
in some of the toughest industrial situations.
We are proud to be trusted by so many well-known businesses worldwide. Our
customers trust Ecotile to provide great industrial flooring that combines strength
and versatility with smart bespoke design. That’s exactly what we give them.
