3. Update on our playground in Javillar!!
The swings and teeter-totters are complete with chains and seats and the
children are so excited to play. The metal fabricators are working on a castle
and our construction workers will be starting a gazebo next week!!! We are so
happy! Thanks to everyone who has made this dream come true!!
4. We're planting a garden in the community of La Seiba!
Most of the areas where Dominican Starfish Foundation works have no
land for gardening. In this Haitian village, we have purchased a small plot
of land for a future Hair and Nail Salon for the graduates of the courses we
have been sponsoring.
Currently (until building funds have been raised), we have decided to use
the land for a community garden. We also want to buy chickens and build
a small chicken coop to help supply eggs to the impoverished families in
the area.
5. We are thrilled to announce the opening
of the new Flamingo English School in
Llanos de Perez sponsored by Dominican
Starfish Foundation. Our teacher is Alise.
She is so excited about this program.
There are 16 students initially! We would
like to thank the donors who have made
this school possible--helping to change
lives one at a time!!
6. Thank you to our donors who support
families to have food every month. It is
so needed. We continue distributing
food in San Rafael de Yuma, Llanos de
Perez, Baraguana, Javillar and more.
7. Thank you to those who joined our Home-Building Club in August. We are now 1/6 of the
way to our goal $15000 monthly goal. We hope September will be our biggest month yet
for new members! https://dominicanstarfish.com/home-building-club/

much has happened on the home in
the month of August!
11. Pal Humanitarian under
the direction of Pearl Giles
held a charity golf
tournament in Cedar Hills,
Utah to help raise funds
for the Pimenter Family to
have a new home. We are
so grateful to all who
supported that and have
donated funds.
The workers will be available to
start the home in mid-September
if the funds are raised. We still
need help with this.

12. Don't you just love people who try their best to help themselves? I
DO!! Antonio has been working for over 4 years to try to build a
home for his family. For a whole year he couldn't work because of
Covid. Antonio and his wife have 4 children. One is 24. The other 3,
ages 16, 16 and 12 still are at home.
We started a fundraiser to help them complete their home.
We still need help with this:

13. When we found
that one of our
most reliable
construction
workers was
building a house
of sticks, we knew
we needed to
help!!
Thanks to
generous donors,
we are building a
duplex for Benito
and his three
children and his
sister with her
two children!!
14. doTerra Healing Hands Has Helped Again with
$15000 matching funds!! THANK YOU!!!
Last month we posted about raising funds for two
families to have new homes. One is for Elizabeth
and Miguel and their 6 children who share only
one bedroom and live in desperate conditions.
The other one is for Nancy and Roberto whose
home is being eaten by termites and who serve in
the community.
After coming with the Chiropractic team in July
and working in the community with doTerra
products, Tegan McEntire went back to Utah and
applied to doTerra Healing Hands for matching
funds for these two homes. The funds were
approved. That pushed us hard to collect our
share of the funds. Thanks to all who donated,
some in large amounts to make this happen!!
The homes are now in the queue waiting to be
built when their turn comes up!!
