How will these techniques appeal to the target audience needs?
Target Audience &
needs
This particular music video will be aimed at a demographic age range between 18-25, both males and females who enjoy listening
to the pop genre, which is emphasized by a number of elements such as the lyrics, tempo and mise en scene.
This particular audience will be looking for a feel good song which is faced paced, due to their lifestyle, they will also be looking for
a music video with content that relates to them as a target audience whilst also looking for young and new artists who are
currently in the charts, therefore I feel that this particular music video fits the needs of the target audience.
Lyrics
All the lyrics in this song emphasize the younger target audience aged 18-25, the lyrics have a narrative about teenagers who are
trouble makers, making excuses for their behaviour and implying that they do not aim to cause trouble, for example within the
chorus there are the lyrics “I don’t look for trouble, trouble looks for me” therefore relating to a wide range teenagers and young
adults who are considered trouble makers.
Another lyric within this song is “light up let’s have a toke, pour more whisky in my coke” which is particularly aimed at the
younger target audience who tend to enjoy going out drinking, smoking and socializing. Also by including slang within the lyrics
“toke” it meets the audiences needs by making it relatable to that specific target audience, by using language that the particular
target audience are familiar with.
The tempo is fast and upbeat, therefore not only fitting the audiences needs but also adding to the faced paced editing . As a result
of combining the fast paced editing and tempo it creates a feel of intense excitement which is what this particular audience want
to see, in contrast to the older generation who tend to prefer listing to slow paced, calm music.

Genre
The genre of this music video is pop, again anchoring the target audience for this particular audience due to the pop genre

much more mainstream audience in contrast to other genres such as punk which has a niche audience.
Camera Technique
A variety of camera shots have been used with a lot of close up shots on each of the artists faces so that the audience can easily
recognise the particular artists and clearly see their happy facial expressions therefore adding to the happy mood and sense of
excitement throughout the music video. At the beginning of the music video a tracking shot was used with the camera moving
down a street, therefore establishing the setting so that the audience have a clear idea of where the music video is set. Also during
the video there are a number of hand-held shots, again adding to the chaotic feel and sense of excitement emphasizing the target
audience.
The editing throughout this video is very fast paced anchoring the tempo of the song, therefore creating a very chaotic feel,
therefore anchoring the target audience due to the fact that teenagers and young adults tend to live chaotic lifestyles, in contrast
