Music Questionnaire results analysis.
The purpose of my market research into music magazines is so that when creating my magazine, I
will have a better understanding as to what style it should be, what contents to include and
ultimately find out what is the most popular genre of music in the demographic I am aiming it at.
To find out this information, I conducted a series of questionnaires and handed them out to a
number of people. Their ages were mainly 16 -20 as I believed that this would give me the
information on preferred music genres and magazine expectations that people were attracted to.

To conclude, the results of my music magazine questionnaires indicate to me the things I need to do
in order to make my magazine more appealing to the targeted age demographic. For example, I now
know that I should aim my magazine at 16-20 year olds and also direct my magazine towards males
without completely excluding males. Furthermore, I found out that I need to aim my magazine at
students as well as making it indie or rock themed as they were the most popular genres. The results
also indicate to me that I should make my magazine roughly Ā£2-Ā£4 and try to include a small
incentive in order to make my magazine more appealing. Finally, it is now clear to me that the
contents of my magazine should include interviews, information on gigs, biographical information
and try to avoid too much celebrity āgossipā as the people I asked said that that was the most
undesirable aspect. Ultimately the results of my music magazine questionnaire were very helpful in
helping me to understand exactly how to structure and design my magazine.
