What is TEA?
Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared
commonly by pouring hot or boiling water
over cured tea leaves ,i.e, CAMELLIA
SINESIS.It contains L-theanine,theophylline
& bound caffeine,but decaffenaited tea is
also sold. While herbal teas are also reffered
to as tea.
4. HISTORY
The discovery of tea begins in China.
According to legend,2737 BC, the Chinese
emperor Shennong was sitting beneath a
tree while his servant boiled drinking
water, when some leaves from the tree
blew into the water. Shennong , a
renowned herbalist, decidded to try the
infusion that his servant had accidentally
created.The tree was a Camellia sinesis,
and the resulting drink was what we now
call tea
5. TYPES OF TEA
• White tea- It is made from the
young bud of the tea plant,
which when the leaves are
at their most potent.
• Green tea- It is made from
unfermented leaves that
is pale in colour & slightly
bitter in flavour, produced
mainly in China & Japan.
6. • Oolong tea- It is a traditional
Chinese tea produced through
a process including withering
plant under strong sun &
oxidation before curling &
twisting.
• Black tea- It is a type of tea
that is more oxidised than
Oolong, White & Green tea.
It is generally stronger in
flavour than the less oxidised
tea.
