Chai is the word for &quot;tea&quot; in much of South Asia and many other parts of the world.Chai is so prevalent in India and Sri Lanka that it could be called their &quot;National Drink&quot;. <br />In its most basic form, chai is black tea that is brewed strong with a combination of spices and is diluted with milk and sugar.<br /> The spices vary from recipe to recipe, but usually consist of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, pepper and ginger. Chai tea is traditionally consumed hot and sweet. The sweetness is needed to bring out the full flavors of the spices. <br /><br />
  3. 3. 拉茶是一种用特殊加工工艺制作成的奶茶,使用的原料茶叶通常是红茶。印度制作Chai时所添加的香料会因地区的不同或是喜好的不同而有所差异。但一般是加入马萨拉调料 (MASALA) 。Chai是由四种材料所主合而成的: 浓郁的红茶、牛奶、多种香料,以及糖或蜂蜜。其中丁香、 姜、胡椒、荳蔻以及肉桂则是一般最常使用的几种香料。<br />拉茶制作除了配料要求严格外,“拉”是关键技术。正是由于对茶汤的反复拉制,使茶汤和炼乳的混合更为充分,并且使牛乳颗粒因受到反复倒拉、撞击而破碎,形成乳化状态,使其既能与茶汤有机结合,又能使茶香和奶香获得充分的发挥。<br /><br />

How to Make Chai<br />Here is a simple recipe to make chai yourself at home. <br />This is what you will need:1 1/2 cups of water;1 1/2 inch stick of cinnamon;8 cardamom pods;8 whole cloves;1/4 inch fresh ginger root (sliced thin);2/3 cup of milk;6 teaspoons sugar;3 teaspoons of Darjeeling Tea <br />Place water, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover and lower heat to low setting and simmer for 10 minutes.Add milk and sugar and again bring to simmer.Next, add the tea leaves, remove from heat and cover.Let steep for 3 minutes and strain. Enjoy! <br /><br />

This is the preferred method because most of the time you just don&apos;t have time to brew from scratch. <br />Easy to Make Chai Tea<br />For those times when you just want to add hot water, here are some recommendations. For the ultimate in convenience, try the powdered chai.<br /><br />

This is what you will need:2 teaspoons fresh ginger root; grated ;1 whole star anise; broken up ;1 teaspoon orange peel; grated ;4 pieces cinnamon bark (canela); 1 1/2 inch ;1 teaspoon cardamom seeds ;10 whole cloves ;5 whole peppercorns ;5 cups water ;1/4 cup black tea leaves; (like Assam or Darjeeling) ;1 teaspoon vanilla ;1/4 cup honey ;3 cups milk <br /><br />
  12. 12. 印度拉茶<br />主料:阿萨姆红茶35克、牛奶50ml、肉桂粉少许。   <br /> 精油:姜精油半滴。<br /> <br />制作:将水烧开后,加入红茶和牛奶,煮沸后加入肉桂粉和半滴姜精油。将茶渣过滤后,即可入杯。可以反复将茶水在杯子中来回“拉”,促进奶茶融合、幼滑。<br /><br />
  13. 13.<br />Chai Tea Latte <br />印度茶拿铁<br />材料: 牛奶,Chai Tea 茶叶,肉桂粉,姜,牛奶。做法: 先把Chai Tea 茶叶跟水一起煮,等滚了之后再放牛奶,这时要开小火喔!牛奶很容易溢出来,稍微滚了之后加入肉桂粉和姜进去,然后搅一搅后就可以关火,最后再把茶渣用滤网过滤掉就可以喝了。<br />
