THE MAIN CONCEPT/ THEME
The leading theme of the music video will mostly be based around the importance of imperfection
It will focus on an individuals inner issues and journey when it comes to tackling unrealistic and artificial perfection
The story will evolve and eventually expose the reality of what is happening underneath the masks and filters people use to hide behind because they
fear judgement from society (creating online identities and seeking validation from others)
The main idea behind the video is to build up awareness and confidence on being different and unique, while at the same time having to cope with the
restrictions and dull and unrealistic perfection displayed by social media
The relationship between the lyrics and the video is going to be clear, in the sense that the visuals of the video will have some literal representation of
the song lyrics. Other parts of the lyrics will be amplified by the visuals of the music video in order to give it a different and a more in depth meaning in
order to successfully explore the theme of finding yourself in the ‘lines of the broken’
IMAGERY AND STYLE
The feeling and look of the music video is going to gradually change. It will begin
with a rather melancholy mood with aspects of simplicity and dull colours. This
will be done in order to bring focus on the individual and their feelings of coping
with the oppression of society.
This style will gradually progress into a vibrant and positive feel of the music
video. This will reflect on the careless and free state of mind of the individual
when they finally let go of the dominant ideologies and controlling norms.
A stylized look will be created through the use of long cinematic shots to add an
aesthetically pleasing look, this will also be achieved by using the correct
setting, lighting and shadows. Wolfgang’s photography and the use of mirrors
will be interpreted in the video to add aspects of notions of looking and
different, unique angles into the video.
Another photographer which the music video will be influenced by is Escher’s
famous photo of a hand holding a silver, reflective sphere, in the photo you can
see the artist looking at themselves while also looking at the audience through
the use of the sphere.

UNIQUE SELLING POINT (USP)
‘Lines of the broken’ music video will stand out from the rest in the music industry as it will tackle a common
issue that many young people face at some point in their lives. This will make the music video relatable to a
wide range of audience and therefore increase its selling value.
Another way the music video will successfully gain an instant fan base is through the promotion of the
producers and artists who created the song. Although they won’t be featured in the music video it self, this will
still attract their current audience as only an official lyrics video has been released leaving the viewers waiting for
a music video.
The music video aims to be easily remembered as it will have a unique and distinct style, making it stand out
and be recognised from the rest in the music industry. The use of intertextual references is also likely to draw in
the attention from a different group of audiences.

THE MAIN CONCEPT/ THEME The leading theme of the music video will mostly be based around the importance of imperfection It will focus on an individuals inner issues and journey when it comes to tackling unrealistic and artificial perfection The story will evolve and eventually expose the reality of what is happening underneath the masks and filters people use to hide behind because they fear judgement from society (creating online identities and seeking validation from others) The main idea behind the video is to build up awareness and confidence on being different and unique, while at the same time having to cope with the restrictions and dull and unrealistic perfection displayed by social media The relationship between the lyrics and the video is going to be clear, in the sense that the visuals of the video will have some literal representation of the song lyrics. Other parts of the lyrics will be amplified by the visuals of the music video in order to give it a different and a more in depth meaning in order to successfully explore the theme of finding yourself in the ‘lines of the broken’
  • 5. IMAGERY AND STYLE The feeling and look of the music video is going to gradually change. It will begin with a rather melancholy mood with aspects of simplicity and dull colours. This will be done in order to bring focus on the individual and their feelings of coping with the oppression of society. This style will gradually progress into a vibrant and positive feel of the music video. This will reflect on the careless and free state of mind of the individual when they finally let go of the dominant ideologies and controlling norms. A stylized look will be created through the use of long cinematic shots to add an aesthetically pleasing look, this will also be achieved by using the correct setting, lighting and shadows. Wolfgang’s photography and the use of mirrors will be interpreted in the video to add aspects of notions of looking and different, unique angles into the video. Another photographer which the music video will be influenced by is Escher’s famous photo of a hand holding a silver, reflective sphere, in the photo you can see the artist looking at themselves while also looking at the audience through the use of the sphere.

This will make the music video relatable to a wide range of audience and therefore increase its selling value. Another way the music video will successfully gain an instant fan base is through the promotion of the producers and artists who created the song. Although they won’t be featured in the music video it self, this will still attract their current audience as only an official lyrics video has been released leaving the viewers waiting for a music video. The music video aims to be easily remembered as it will have a unique and distinct style, making it stand out and be recognised from the rest in the music industry. The use of intertextual references is also likely to draw in the attention from a different group of audiences.
