Dial-up internet was available in homes from
early 1990’s.
The average speed of dial-up connection
was 56kbps, which is roughly 1000 x slower
than an average internet speed today.
In early 2000’s broadband
first started being
installed in consumers
homes.

Theatre/Museums experiences
have grown in popularity since the
pandemic.
Crypto-currency:
Particularly popular among Gen-Z
or Millennial men, 20% of global
consumers have now bought or
invested in crypto-currency.

12. Summary.
Online activity and consumption is now an
integrated part of society. After the pandemic,
e-commerce and online communication has
massively increased.
Use of smartphones has given consumers easy
access to social media and video consumption.
The improvement of internet speeds had a
massive effect on how we use the internet
today. - If broadband was never invented,
would internet consumption be as high as it is
today?
