Non profit-Capacity building Presented by sharafudheen Amit chandra
It is ‘ the ability of people, organizations & society to perform functions more effectively, efficiently and sustainably & strengthen their capacity over time’
Why capacity building ???  It focuses on the enhancement and strengthening of existing capacities of the org.  It helps to create a positive impact on lives and communities  Encouraging involvement of philanthropists and professionals from the corporate world
Amit Chandra - MD, Bain Capital Advisors  promoting philanthropy among entrepreneurs and professionals  He is giving his time and money to social welfares  And he is bringing advantage to his business networks from philanthropic work.
 The trigger for him to set his sights on capacities was the new Companies Act, which mandates companies of a certain size spend 2% of their net profit on corporate social responsibility activities.
Conclusion…  Building organizational capacity is very hard & takes a long time  It make increased social impact  Corporates can enjoy an inherent advantage

  • 3. Why capacity building ???  It focuses on the enhancement and strengthening of existing capacities of the org.  It helps to create a positive impact on lives and communities  Encouraging involvement of philanthropists and professionals from the corporate world
  • 4. Amit Chandra - MD, Bain Capital Advisors  promoting philanthropy among entrepreneurs and professionals  He is giving his time and money to social welfares  And he is bringing advantage to his business networks from philanthropic work.
  • 5.  The trigger for him to set his sights on capacities was the new Companies Act, which mandates companies of a certain size spend 2% of their net profit on corporate social responsibility activities.
  • 6. Conclusion…  Building organizational capacity is very hard & takes a long time  It make increased social impact  Corporates can enjoy an inherent advantage
