2. Type of Audiences
It is difficult to determine which specific type of audience
would be interested in a thriller film, mainly due to its
large levels of diversity when it comes to storylines and
characters. Thrillers can range from crime dramas to sci-
fi films and even comedy's in some aspects.
So instead of listing off one type of audience I will be
referencing all types of people who would enjoy a thriller
film and why they would enjoy them.
3. Teenagers
A teenager would enjoy thriller films for many different reasons.
These would include the levels of tension that can be created by the
storyline, although this is generally the latter reason. Teenagers
would be interested in Thrillers that include any type of horror theme
or action sequence because those kinds of things appeal to the
younger audience. (myself as one of them). Most teenagers enjoy
anything that has a big explosion and a good story.
4. Adults
The thriller genre would mainly appeal to the older
generation of people. Maybe in their early 30’s and
onwards. This is because they can appreciate a good
storyline a lot more then someone who is only there for
an explosion of particular actor and can understand any
plot twists or deep meanings that the director has placed
in the film.
5. Intellectuals
Another large demographic for thrillers are intellectuals.
This is because a lot of thrillers will include something
designed to make the audience think about what is going
on, leaving them walking out of the cinema asking
questions. Increasing the chance of them buying the film
when it is released for sale, increasing the companies
overall profits.
6. Cinema Addicts
This is a very rare audience that is not generally referenced however I feel
that it is required to be included. Cinema addicts are people who will go and
see anything that has been released in the cinema because they enjoy
every type of film. These people don’t generally care about the deeper
tones of a film and just enjoy the many different stories and worlds that can
be created in their minds through a directors creative decisions.
