Evaluation question 2- How effective is the combination of your main product ...
Q3 eval
1.
2. All three of my tasks that I created for my film promotional
package are surrounding the psychological thriller plot that our
group came up with.
Personally I think that all three tasks compliment one another
and all three tasks need one another in order to be effective.
3. The release date was kept the same on both the poster and film trailer, this was to
inform the audience when the film would be released even if they had seen each
promotional item individually, this was a common feature that is frequent in most
film promotional packages, therefore making our products as professional and
successful and real media products.
4. Throughout creating all three products in the film promotional package, I stuck to the
red, white and black colour scheme.
The red was used to represent blood and fear and was used to give the products a scary
atmosphere about them. However on the poster and on the magazine the red gives the
products a professional feel and it also is a common code and convention of the
psychological thriller genre.
The white is usually paired with the red, this was done to reflect Emily's character and how
her innocence is now ruined by her killings in the movie. However on the magazine the read
against the white shows the formal and professional look of the poster.
The black was used to provide the products with a sense of obscurity and unknown, also a
common code and convention often paired with the psychological thriller genre.
This colour scheme was present in all three products within the film promotional package
linking them all in together.
5. The website was present on both the poster and the film
trailer, this was to link both products together and to show
the audience that the products are successful and
professional.
6. Through out the process of all three products I ensured that continuity was
present when viewing them. One way I did this was by ensuring that the main
female character was portrayed in two different ways, one was making her
look inferior and vulnerable and the other was making her look twisted and
creepy. I felt that this was effective as it showed her split personality which is
one of the main themes in the film plot as a whole.
