• Characteristics: Creative

Thinking, Applicability, and Effectiveness
• Importance: “Literary science, mathematics, and

technology is not an option for the citizens of the
21st century.”
• Role in 21st Century Education: Incorporate a

more digital experience for our students.
Example
• We will have our students experiment with water

temperature in groups.
• The students will participate in a lab where they

will use math and science to calculate the
temperature of water at boiling point and at
freezing point.
• Each group will have access to a Bunsen

Burner, a Constant Temperature Bath, a
thermometer, and 5mL of water in a test tube.
YouTube
• YouTube videos will be used as a tutorial as to

how to calculate various water temperatures.
• They will watch the video given below:

Podcast
• Each group will make a lab report in the form of a

podcast.
Secondlife
• Explore second life to discover various aquatic

environments and how the climate affects the
state of the water (i.e.: glaciers and hot
springs).
Voki
• The voki will explain the process in calculating

the difference between boiling and melting
points.
WebQuest
• Complete a WebQuest, created by the teacher,

prior to the lab about the various properties of
water.
Visuals and Materials
• Use a smart board to collect the data obtained

by the students during the experiment.
• We will have each group be in charge of a
certain part of the experiment.
• That group will be in charge of collecting the
data for this experiment and writing it on the
smart board for the class to see.
Conclusion
• Math and science are not only important as

subjects, but also as thought processes.
• The application of scientific thought has a

broader range than math or science, but can be
applied to various daily life situations.
• Grasping these principals will create a more
well rounded student

  • 6. Secondlife • Explore second life to discover various aquatic environments and how the climate affects the state of the water (i.e.: glaciers and hot springs).
  • 7. Voki • The voki will explain the process in calculating the difference between boiling and melting points.
  • 8. WebQuest • Complete a WebQuest, created by the teacher, prior to the lab about the various properties of water.
  • 9. Visuals and Materials • Use a smart board to collect the data obtained by the students during the experiment. • We will have each group be in charge of a certain part of the experiment. • That group will be in charge of collecting the data for this experiment and writing it on the smart board for the class to see.

Conclusion • Math and science are not only important as subjects, but also as thought processes. • The application of scientific thought has a broader range than math or science, but can be applied to various daily life situations. • Grasping these principals will create a more well rounded student
