Arcadia Records was founded on January 1, 2019, in Anaheim, California. We are a
small label with a highly diverse repertoire. We are looking to expand internationally and gain
more artists for our roster. With the music industry is entirely global, it is essential that record
labels gain an international foothold.
Arcadia is looking into starting our expansion in the Australian market. Australia is
incredibly rich in culture and this is embodied in the country’s music. The music industry in
Australia embraces all genres and styles, as well as being deeply rooted in tradition. This along,
with the mantra “A voice for all Music,” make it an ideal candidate for our first stage in taking
our label global. (Music Australia 2020)
The current market in Australia took a hit in 2018/2019 due to housing downturn and a
severe drought. It is predicted, however, that the growth of the economy will recover with the
help on monetary and fiscal stimuli. (Deloitte 2019) In terms of the music industry in the
country, Australia rings in as the sixth largest music market in the world. The country is also the
sixth largest for digital sales. (Music Australia 2020) This is a very promising revelation for
Arcadia Records.
Australia is ranked as having the largest median wealth in the world. The country is high
income with its top industries being; mining, industrial/ transportation equipment, food
processing and chemicals. The labor and employment rates are promising with a rather low
unemployment rate, at around 5.4%. The government in Australia is known as the
Commonwealth of Australia. It was formed in 1901 and is defined as a Federal Parliamentary

Democracy and a Commonwealth Realm, with Queen Elizabeth II as the figure head of the
government. (globalEDGE 2020)
The political and economic situation is good, and the probability of corporate default is
low on average. The country risk rating is low, and the country’s business climate is quite good.
Current trends show that activity is expected to remain stable and the construction of public
infrastructure will continue to contribute to growth. (globalEDGE 2020) With all the trends
being favorable, Arcadia Records could see much success in the Australian market.
Change, distribution, and transformation are all accelerating in the music industry. The
global recorded music ecosystem is booming and looks to continue to grow. (Csathy 2020)
Arcadia Record’s entry into the Australian music industry will help us to keep up with these
trends. Joining with Australian artists, Arcadia can also keep the time-honored musical traditions
alive as well as bring some of our newfound knowledge to the United States.
