Few podcasts that focus on life as a creave feature
predominately BIPOC guest and most o]en center those
who have already a^ained the success and visibility many
creaves from underrepresented backgrounds are sll
working towards. Our podcast serves as a reminder that
many of us are navigang the same challenges. We frame
our topics around the personal experiences of each guest
with the intenon of inspiring BIPOC creaves to keep
working towards their dreams.
The podcast is also a space to engage in cultural
commentary surrounding music, art, and film. Though most
episodes are centered around interviewing a single guest,
we occasionally host roundtable discussions from the
perspecves of fans and consumers of art.
PAST TOPICS
8. It is often believed that BIPOC are making great strides in art,
media and entertainment but those of us who are still in
pursuit of success are keenly aware of how much further we
have to go. We aim to expand conversations surrounding
what it means to be a BIPOC creative by offering a more
nuanced perspective than what the mainstream media
provides.

9. As a member of Listening Party Presents, an incubaon program
which offers free recording services for emerging podcasts, we’ve
been fortunate to produce quality content at a low financial risk.
Since COVID-19, the Listening Party studio has since been shut
down and the podcast is on hiatus.
Though we’ve received mild press coverage on ALL ARTS, The
Wave Podcasng and Podcasts in Color we have yet to
breakthrough the mainstream. We are looking to take the show to
the next level through gaining increased visibility and a more
engaged audience. In the future, we’d like to host live shows and
panel discussions that will create space for BIPOC creaves across
the country to connect with one another.
