Concept
• A circuit breaker or isolation knife is a
manual shut-off CC used in a low-voltage
electrical network.
• Circuit breakers are very commonly used in
residential and industrial circuits in small
power ranges with small switching
frequency.

Concept
• Particularly, the load circuit breaker can
switch off the rated current, even if the
overload is small. This type can withstand
short-circuit currents but is not capable of
short-circuiting.

Classification :
It is possible to classify circuit breakers in
different ways:
- According to the structure we have 1pole, 2
pole, 3pole.
- According to rated voltage: 250V, 500V.
- According to the rated current, there are
types: 10A, 15A, 20A, 25A, 30A, 60A, 75A,
100A, 150A, 200A, 350A, 600A, 1000A....

Classification :
• According to insulating materials: Porcelain
base, stone base, plastic.
• Under protection conditions: type with box
type without box.
• According to the requirements of use, there
are types: with protective fuses, types
without protective fuses.
• There are also single-way circuit breakers
and 2-way circuit breakers (island circuit
breakers).

steering wheels, control directly or indirectly
