1. Character 1 - Main Character
We decided for the main character to wear all black as it suggests the idea of mystery. It also indicates
that the character has darker intentions as it matches the colour used. There are 2 types of shoes as the
character is involved in 2 different motives; the boots are to do with her job whereas the trainers suggest
her private life as they are more casual and informal. The long black coat, black trousers, black gloves and
fedora are all part of the detective outfit as it is stereotypically what detectives in mystery thriller movies
and TV shows.
The list of clothing includes:
-Black trousers
-Long black coat
-Boots
-Trainers
-Black gloves
-Fedora
2. Character 2 - Supporting Character
We decided that for the supporting character, there should be a clear contrast and difference to the main
character. We decided that the character will have a burgundy shirt as this colour represents a small
sense of danger. The black jeans add a sense of formality (due to the colour) however it also portrays a
casual approach to their appearance and job as it is not as formal as suit trousers. The trainers reiterate
this casual look, however they could also show the difference in colour as they may not be black; this
shows the supporting character is less mysterious and less likely to be hiding a secret. The white of the
bow tie could connote hope and life as it is a direct contrast to the black used in the main character’s
outfit.
The list of clothing includes
-Burgundy shirt
-White bow tie
-Trainers
-Black jeans
3. Character 3 - Victim
We decided that for the victim, they must seem the most ordinary and innocent as they had no idea of
what was going on within the story and can be seen at the wrong place at the wrong time. We aim to
achieve this by the use of casual clothing. The outfit we chose (as seen below) makes the character seem
very down-to-earth and keeping up with trends; they seem like the social norm of the time.
The list of clothing includes:
-Checked shirt
-Jeans
-Jacket
-Trainers
