1. ASSIGNMENT 2, UNIT 1.
READING LIST
1. BOOK REFERENCES
TOP NOTCH 1, 2 and 3, textbook.
I found this series very helpful, because of the structure of the lessons.
First of all, I like it because they introduce the students to the contents of the lesson showing with
an introduction to the topic.
The units generally consist on 4 lessons, and all of them cover the four areas for teaching a second
language: listening, writing, reading and speaking. They provide a topic that allows the students to
learn vocabulary, so they can be able to apply the vocabulary to situations in real life.
At the end of each lesson, they have a section for self-evaluation. Many books provide this, but I
find the contents of the lessons very approachable.
Second, I like how the lessons are organized. They don´t have too many images, aside notes or
more than 1 content like many books do. In my opinion, that distracts students from focusing on the
lessons.
