frame
Step 1: Checking FAU‘s & the School‘s
„Mission Statement“ (both publicly available online)
Step 2: Checking and/or complementing the School's "Strategic
Goals" (->derived from the "School's mission")
Step 3: Transferring the School's "Strategic Goals" into the School's "Scorecard"
Step 4: "Scorecard" sets frame for the new "study programe" (e. g. "Bachelor in Business
Education and Human Resource Development")
Step 5: Constructing the new "study program":
• Integrating existing lectures/seminars (= "modules") etc. into new program or
• Creating new lessons/seminars (="modules") for the new program
• !! For each and every lesson/seminar learning outcomes need to be defined !!

Quality of Process: Central goals
• Key processes in "teaching and studying" are made transparent, visible
and traceable ("Process map")
-How to establish, develop or remove "study programs"?
-What are the learning outcomes of lessons?
-How to examine these learning outcomes?

• Clear structure of autonomy and responsibility on each level
- e. g. each professorship/chair and/or lecturer submits a detailed description of their
lectures/seminars (="module" of a study program) describing the learning outcomes of
their module in detail and according to the "matrix"/framework
-Changes made within a module (=lecture/seminar) need to made and published according
to the "process" described within the "process map"
-"Module description" is the basis for the "Diploma Supplement"

  • 4. 4 The School of Business, Economics and Society – How to...Establishing a new study program within the School’s quality frame Step 1: Checking FAU‘s & the School‘s „Mission Statement“ (both publicly available online) Step 2: Checking and/or complementing the School's "Strategic Goals" (->derived from the "School's mission") Step 3: Transferring the School's "Strategic Goals" into the School's "Scorecard" Step 4: "Scorecard" sets frame for the new "study programe" (e. g. "Bachelor in Business Education and Human Resource Development") Step 5: Constructing the new "study program": • Integrating existing lectures/seminars (= "modules") etc. into new program or • Creating new lessons/seminars (="modules") for the new program • !! For each and every lesson/seminar learning outcomes need to be defined !!
  • 5. 5 The "4 levels of Quality Management" at FAU ("Who is doing what?") University School Study program(s) Module(s) of each Study Program Documentation on each level (visible and publicly available, e. g. on website)

Policy of Quality (Whereto?/Our direction?) • the School's "Mission Statement" • scorecard • matrix of study program • establishing structures for "quality management" • set "responsibilities" (inside the school) • map all key processes inside the school • developmenting and establishing "study programs" • establishing "quality management" instruments within the school (evaluation tools for modules; regular evaluation of study programs, lectures, teachers, processes; involving students into QM processes,...)   • 7. 7 Quality of Process: Central goals • Key processes in "teaching and studying" are made transparent, visible and traceable ("Process map") -How to establish, develop or remove "study programs"? -What are the learning outcomes of lessons? -How to examine these learning outcomes? ... • Clear structure of autonomy and responsibility on each level - e. g. each professorship/chair and/or lecturer submits a detailed description of their lectures/seminars (="module" of a study program) describing the learning outcomes of their module in detail and according to the "matrix"/framework -Changes made within a module (=lecture/seminar) need to made and published according to the "process" described within the "process map" -"Module description" is the basis for the "Diploma Supplement"

Position of the new study program in the portfolio of "study programs" at the school (How and where does the new program fit in?) 3. New Program's schedule (Combining"modules" and semesters) 4. Module handbook (describing each "module's" content, method of teaching, learning utcomes) 5. Matrix of new study program 6. Diploma supplement 7. Transcript of records
