Being a magazine covering an audio series bases of the TV series "Doctor Who"
there isn't any photograph to be taken (asides from the cast,) meaning that the
majority of the images in this magazine are artwork.
On top of this, as far as colour schemes go, there's no really use of one – other than
the consistent use of burgundy.
On the front cover, the logo is placed and the top of the layout (whilst being placed
behind the characters head – to apply some depth to the piece;) below that's a big
bold title for the issue; and apposed to a spread of text layer across the page,
below the title they use a burgundy strip listing a couple of the featured articles...
Being an online downloadable magazine, this magazine doesn't require the use of
any barcodes.

Being a magazine based around film, the magazine has a more cinematic look to it
– using cinematic styled photography and edited to match the style of photography.
With this magazine, though there isn't much of a given colour scheme used – they
use a black and red colour scheme – as can be seen of the front cover...
On the front cover of this magazine, they use a very basic layout – choosing to
appear like a newsletter layout – with the title of the magazine being at the top, a
cinematic photograph below it and the issue's name on top of that.
Again, being an online downloadable magazine, this magazine doesn't require the
use of any barcodes.
7. Existing Product
The Artic Monkeys being a big part of the issue, a picture of Alex Turner (the lead
singer of the band) on the front cover.
Unlike the previous two examples, this is a magazine sold in stores, they use a
barcode.
8. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– They all use the magazine's title/logo at the top of the page.
– In the magazine, they use a range of font sizes – depending on
the value of the text – to draw in the audience.
– On the front cover of all of the issues, they use a big portrait
image with text laid on top of or around it.
– The first two magazine's were online based, meaning that they
don't include a barcode.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your
on work?
– I very must like the idea of text size variation.
– I'll also be using the logo placement at the top of the page
