Do you need assistance with your 2016 Training Budget to grow your business?
The Industry Skills Fund (fund) is an Australian Government initiative to support eligible businesses to seize growth
opportunities by providing grants to upskill and reskill their workforces. Designed to encourage investment in training, the
fund assists Australian business grow by supporting market diversification, new technologies, new export markets and
creating more jobs.
Introducedin2015, the fund providestrainingplacesandsupportservicestoindustry. The fundistargetingbusinesseswhich
are preparing to take up growth opportunities outside of their normal day-to-day business operations.
Large businesses and businesses repositioning due to market driven structural adjustment can also apply. Two types of
assistance are available under the fund - training grants and skills advice.
Trainingactivitiesthatqualifyfora grant include;nationallyrecognisedindustryqualificationsandskill sets,non-accredited
training,language, literacy and numeracy, mentoring directly related to training. Examples of grants for industry include:
Wholesale / Retail – export management training, sales, marketing and website design
Food Processing / Manufacturing / Engineering – lean manufacturing and industrial automation
Agriculture / Horticulture – organic farming and supply chain processes
Eligible Australianbusinesseswithanidentifiedgrowthopportunityorseekingto diversifycanreceivefree independentskills
advice,streamlinedaccessto traininggrants and tailoredsupportservicesthroughreducedpaperwork,workforce planning
and development through financial co-contribution.
Priority industry sectors will be givenpriority;howeverapplicationsare encouragedfrommicro, small to mediumandlarge
businesses from other sectors.
Food and agribusiness
Mining equipment, technology and services
Medical technologies and pharmaceuticals
Oil, gas and energy resources
Advanced manufacturing; and
Enabling technology and service industries that support one or more of the priority areas listed above.
