Click Post a Job from your home dashboard.

Step 1: Basics
Complete the fields listed below:
1. Where should students submit their application? Select
“Apply in Handshake”
2. Job title: Enter the job title as “Position – Department”
3. Company Division: Select Division (not optional)
4. Display your contact information to students? Select
“Name Only”
5. Job Type: Select “On Campus Student Employment”
6. Employment Type: Select “Part-Time”
7. Duration: Select “Permanent”
8. Is this a Work Study job: Select “Yes” (No for regular On
Campus Employment positions)

Step 2: Details
Complete the fields listed below:
1. Description? Enter Job Description
2. Job role(s): Select “General and Miscellaneous Office
Clerks and Administrative Support Workers”
3. How many students do you expect to hire for this
position? Select 1 or more
4. Approximate salary: Select Paid and do not enter an
amount
5. Does this job have specific offices that students can
apply to? Select “Enter office locations”
6. Job location: Select “Washington, District of
Columbia, United States”
7. Allow remote workers: Select Yes
8. Required documents: Select Resume as a minimum

Step 3: Preferences
Only complete the bottom of the page.
1. Application package recipients: Enter your name
2. Select either “Email a summary of applicants
once your job expires” or “email every time a new
student applies”

Step 4: Schools
Complete the highlighted fields.
1. Job postings: Enter Howard University
2. Expiration Date: Enter your expected expiration
date or date it a year out for continuous
recruitment

1. Review your posting, then select Save in the
bottom right-hand corner
2. If you need to make changes, you can return to

Confirming Your Posting
Once you've created a job, you may want to double-
check that it's posted successfully to the requested
schools.
1. To confirm this, navigate to your Jobs overview
page by clicking Jobs from the left menu
column in Handshake.
2. Record the the posting ID number in order to
easily locate the position.
