1. I used my mobile phone to record our audience interviews We used Final Cut Express which is a software used by film directors to edit raw footage. We also used an MP3 file in our music video this was intermedial. Using new digital media technology we constructed our music video, we used ‘Digital Cameras’ to film, these cameras where useful because they created scenes for every footage we had which made it easier to select the scenes we wanted to use.
2. We also researched into social networking sites, we found that twitter is becoming popular with our target audience. We then created an account for the artist. We used YouTube to research, find and identify the conventions needed for our hybrid genre. This helped us familiarise with the requirements of a typical R&B music video.
3. For our planning we used web 2.0 and created a blog, in our blog we have noted all our research and planning into the music genre. Web 2.0 in the Gauntlett’s theory is now allowing the audience to be both the producer and consumer. Our blog is filled with information that will interest our target audience only We used the blog to keep track of our progress and add technological convergence of the use of the microsoft software.
