In 1996 the web (law for education en vocational studies) inspired schools to merge to bigger institutes. ROC’s (regional Educational Centres) were formed. One flaw in the law was that the region was not defined. Now about 70 schools for vocational studies and adult education exist The total sector has 53.000 employees, 630.000 students, pupils, participants . The vocatonal studies (mbo) have 485.000 students. About 40 procent of the dutch working population has had a vocational studie.

Now ROC West Brabant consists of 8 schools and 3 commercial partners located in 60 buildings. P3 transfer is our commercial educator Maintenance Education Consortium is a foundation in wich ROC West-Brabant, Hogeschool Avans, Hogeschool Zeeland, ROC Tilburg, ROC Westerschelde, ROC Zadkine, ROC Zeeland en Kenteq work together. http://www.worldclassmaintenance.com Just for the good order, the difference in name writing reflects de differences in the schools.
