2. Project Details
Project 1:
Title: I - Medilogger.
Client: ITIE Knowledge solutions.
End User: Aeronautical medical development institute Bengaluru (Indian Air force).
IDE’s: MPLAB-X.
Compiler: C18.
Debugger: ICD2.
Controller: PIC18F46j50.
RF transceiver chip: CC1100.
Description:
The main aim of the project is to acquire real-time data of Pilot's health parameters such as
ECG, EMG, SPO2 Red, SPO2 IR and respiration to check the physical fitness of the pilot when
he is being undergone the medical test. In this project, my responsibility was designing and
developing a real time data receiver which receives the data of health parameters of the pilot and
transfers in the form of 64 byte sized data packets. These data packets will be recognized and
received by the receiver IC TI CC1100 and sent to USB IC PIC18f46j50 which transfers the data
via USB cable serially to a display device.
In this project I have used SPI protocol which helps communicate between Transceiver IC (TI
CC1100) and USB IC (PIC18f46j50). The data format of the Transceiver IC is 64 byte out of
which only 54 bytes are used by the data and 10 bytes remains free. The 54 byte data is received
by the USB IC(PIC18f46j50) and converted to a suitable format and data will be sent serially to
the display device through the USB cable.
.
Role: Developing firmware for i-medilogger receiver.
3. Project 2:
Title: Microcontroller based automated power saving system.
IDE’s: MPLAB-X.
Compiler: C8.
Debugger: ICD2.
Controller: PIC16F877a.
Sensor: temperature sensor-LM35.
Humidity sensor -HSM 20G
IR sensor
Description:
The aim of this project is to design cost effective automated system which can control
fan and A/c, based on the intensity of light, humidity and temperature in a room, thus it saves the
maximum power. It can also sense the person entering into a room and controls the door
intelligently.
The implementation of this project is made simpler by using sensor to detect the person and
compact circuitry built around the PIC16f877a microcontroller programs. Through this system I
wish to help academic institutions and private organizations to save money on their power bills
and contribute in reducing the emission of green house gases in environment.
In this project, I have used a temperature sensor, humidity sensors, IR sensors,
LDR and a LCD display.
Role: Firmware development, debugging and testing.
Protocols and Drivers
Title 1: I2C Protocol.
Description: I2C protocol Implemented using 89c51 microcontroller with EEPROM AT24C32
controller and RTC PCF8563 controller. This protocol enables the users communicate
efficiently.
Role: Protocol developer.
4. Title 2: Thermal line printer driver.
Description: The aim of this project it prints a text in prescribed format using heat sensing
paper. From this technology is derivate thermal transfer, to print on standard media. The direct
thermal printing technology where the paper is directly in contact with the print head. This
paper is pre-treated so that when heated, it gets black. This also allows to make color printing.
Role: Driver developer.
