Description:
IEC 60870-5-103 protocol is one of the set of standards which is used for telecontrol in electrical engineering
and power system automation applications. Relay communicates with a master/RTU which is compatible with
a IEC 60870-5-103 protocol through a serial communication interface EIA RS-485. Relay updates the status
information and data to master. The whole set of standards of this protocol for serial communication is
programmed using embedded C language in PIC 18f26k22 microcontroller using MPLAB compiler.

Description:
Numerical combined 1-phase over and under voltage relay has been developed to provide protection for the
power system whenever over or under voltage occurs in the system. Relay measures the R.M.S value of the
system voltage and compares with the user selected threshold limits. If the R.M.S value of the voltage goes
beyond the user selected over voltage settings then the over voltage protection will activate, if the R.M.S value

The Input Output Module has been developed to provide the status of input and output applied for the

Battery Earth Fault Relay (BEFR)

Description:
Battery Earth Fault relay has been developed to provide protection for the power system whenever the relay
measures the leakage current between battery and earth. If the current increased more than the set value the
relay operates as per time delay setting. This trips the tripping circuit, opening the circuit breaker. The whole
working of relay is programmed in 18f46k22 microcontroller using MPLAB compiler.
DC over and under voltage relay

Description:
DC over and under voltage relay has been developed to provide protection for the battery whenever over or
under voltage occurs in the system. Relay measures the average value of the system voltage and compares
with the user selected threshold limits. If the average value of the voltage goes beyond the user selected over
voltage settings then the over voltage protection will activate, if the average value of the voltage goes below
the user selected under voltage settings then the under voltage protection will activate. The whole working of
relay is programmed in 18f46k22 microcontroller using MPLAB compiler.

smart camera and which will keep an eye over the restricted zone and notify the security officer in

an eye restricted area through their cell phone even when they are not physically present.
