Project Highlights:
RC5 Remote decoding and Home Automation using RC5 remote: IIIT
Bhubaneswar
Here we decoded the wave analog waveform emitted from the IR-LED by
pressing a key of a RC5 remote by using TSOP1738 IR receiver and the ADC
functionality of AT mega 16.
This decoded value is further displayed in a 16*2 Alphanumeric LCD Display.
Further we used these digital values to assign the Automatic control of home appliances.
Home Automation using HC-05 Bluetooth module and Self developed Android
Application: IIIT, Bhubaneswar
Here we used the Bluetooth from our Android mobile to communicate with
another system made up of HC-06 Bluetooth module, AT mega 16 and according to the
command from the mobile the system responds accordingly to control the home
appliances.
To pass the command from the android mobile to our embedded system, we
designed an application using MIT App Inventor tool.
2. Home Automation using GSM module: IIIT, Bhubaneswar
Here we decoded the message send from a mobile by configuring a SIM-900A
GSM module configured for 9600 baud rate and UART protocol of AT mega 16.
This decoded text message is further displayed in a 16*2 Alphanumeric LCD
Display. Further we used these text to assign the Automatic control of home appliances.
Using this GSM technology, we can control our appliances from anywhere in the
world. We also added some extra features like only the registered user can operate the
appliances by using our embedded device and if someone other tries to access other’s
appliances then his/her contact number will be send to the registered user.
GSM based Energy meter: IIIT, Bhubaneswar
Here we took the digital pulse output from the Flash LED of a Static single phase
Energy meter and used Input Capture Unit of AT mega 16 to calculate the time period of
this signal. From the time period we calculated the energy consumed.
At the end of the month the Electricity Board just need to send a message to send
the bill and out embedded system will send a bill to the board as well as to the consumer.
Only the Electricity Board have the permission to send message to the consumer.
If any other device tries to send message, then his/her contact number will be forwarded
to the board.
The Electricity Board can also check the current status of a consumer and also can
disconnect the defaulters through a text only.
Light and Sound following Robot: UC BerkeleyX
This was my 1st
Intermediate level individual project. Here I constructed a light
and sound following robot using Photocell, Electric Mic and MSP30.
Here I used the Energia platform to develop this project.
Increment and Decrement of LED array using RF module: Indian Institute of
Technology, Kharagpur
Here I used two sets of 433MHz, CC1000 module to communicate between two
embedded systems.
One system was made up of a potentiometer and a pic microcontroller which
controls the output voltage that decides the digital output from this system. This digital
value will be transmitted by using the trans-receiver.
At the receiver’s end another trans-receiver is present along with a pic
microcontroller which receives the transmitted digital value and outputs the value to one
of its ports to which the LED array is connected.
