Strong prayer 43
- 1. Strong Prayer by Adam Woeger
The success of a nation and its churches depends on the prayers of its citizens. When God can no longer find
anyone praying and interceding for a country, He is forced to send His Judgment on them. As long as there is
an intercessor in the land who prays and intercedes there is hope. See Isaiah 59:1-2,16 and Ezekiel 22:23-31.
God is patient and long-suffering, not wanting any to perish, or be destroyed. He desires that people repent
of all sins. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering
to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. Prayer is
essential today, and more people need to be engaging in it. We need men who can truly pray, in addition
to women. Men often lack the desire to pray, perhaps thinking it to be a sign of weakness. Prayer is strength.
The lack of prayer makes a person weak. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of
his might.” “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit...watching...” Ephesians 6:10,18.
Pray always. “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4.
When you pray, you show God that you depend on Him to meet all your needs, and will not rely on your self.
Do not doubt. Be aligned with God’s Will, and believe that you will receive whatever you pray for. “...What
things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24.
Faith demands that we agree with God’s Word, never doubting what He Has Promised to do, and to give us.
God has given many gifts to His Church to be used to heal the sick and bring deliverance to the lost captives.
You are to pray for others, encourage them in the faith, and love them, being a positive example of Christ.
Jesus demonstrated The Father’s Love to people, by performing signs and wonders, and healing all who were
oppressed by the devil. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who
went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38.
The church should be a place of deliverance and healing, where hurting people can receive ministry and love.
Jesus viewed sickness and disease as works of the devil. He came to destroy the works of the devil, so people
could be healed and delivered from all kinds of captivity. “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil
sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the
works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8. Sin takes people captive. Christ came to set people free. See Luke 4:18-19.
“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him
call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins,
they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:13-15. “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:16. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that
he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” James 1:6-7. Salvation and healing are gifts from God. The prayer of
faith is complete confidence that God wants to heal you and He will do the thing that you have asked for.
You must remove, and repent of, the sins of doubt and unbelief, which prevent your prayers being answered.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them
that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they
shall recover.” Mark 16:15-18. To receive healing, those praying, and being prayed for, must be obedient to
God, removing all doubt, unbelief, unforgiveness, and all other sin. Will you believe Jesus and walk in faith?
See Luke 18:8. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6. Be persistent in prayer.
Strong prayer must be combined with strong faith, in order to see the things promised by God accomplished.
