2. Ephesians 3:20
■ 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works in us,
New King James Version
3. Ephesians 3
vs 14-16
14 For this reason [[d]seeing the greatness of
this plan by which you are built together in
Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 For Whom every family in heaven and on
earth is named [that Father from Whom all
fatherhood takes its title and derives its
name].
16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury
of His glory to be
strengthened and reinforced with mighty
power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit
[Himself indwelling your innermost being and
personality].
4. Ephesians
3 vs 17-19
17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down,
abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be
rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
18 That you may have the power and be strong to
apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted
people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and
length and height and depth [of it];
19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, [e]through
experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far
surpasses [f]mere knowledge [without experience]; that you
may be filled [through all your being] [g]unto all the fullness of
God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence,
and [h]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God
Himself]!
5. Ephesians 3 vs 16
■ 16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His
glory to be strengthened and reinforced with
mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit
[Himself indwelling your innermost being and
personality].
■ Strengthened by the Holy spirit in the inner man
which is our spiritual man.
■ Inner man is talking about the born-again spirit in us
when we gave our life to Jesus.
■ This needs to be strengthened in order to completely
govern our emotions, spiritual being and mind as we
subject the old habits, thought patterns and way of
living ie lust, gossip, people pleasing
6. Ephesians 3 vs 16
■ 17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell
(settle down, abide, make His permanent home)
in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in
love and founded securely on love,
■ Colossians 1: 27- Christ in us is our hope of glory
because we were dead in sin and conducted ourself
in the lust of our flesh but we have now taken a new
identity.
■ Romans 5 vs 5 -
■ When Christ lives in us just like the house, we reflect
him. The love of God governs our very being.
7. Ephesians 3 vs 18 & 19
■ 18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp
with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what
is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
■ 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, [e]through experience
for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses [f]mere knowledge
[without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] [g]unto
all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine
Presence, and [h]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God
Himself]!
■ Through our communion and fellowship with the Holy Spirit (the power of God),
we have knowledge and revelation of the love of God.
■ This is demonstrated in our life in various ways
8. A love that
fills the void
and gives
reason to
life
■ When Jesus was talking to the woman at
the well, he said in john 4 vs 13-14
■ 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks
this water will be thirsty again, 14 but
whoever drinks the water I give them will
never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them
will become in them a spring of
water welling up to eternal life.”
■ Many are times we try to fill voids or find
satisfaction in pornography, praises of
people, men, women, academics etc but
the real essence of our being can only be
in christ
■ CHRIST IS ENOUGH FOR ME
9. A love that
gave me
hope
■ Like we read earlier – Christ in us the
hope of glory Colossians 1.27
■ Testimony time.
■ In my weakness or short comings there's
hope.
■ There’s hope in my personal situations
because when I look at how far ive come, I
know he's going come through
10. A love that
freed me
from people
pleasing &
attention
seeking
■ I have been saved by grace and not of
works meaning I don’t have to do any
works in exchange of Gods love
■ Now who is man that I have to dress a
certain way outside of my personal
dressing sense, have a certain body, be of
certain stature etc when Christ approved
me through his death.
■ With that being said Christ’s love has
given me a sense of identity of who I
belong to. When the battle rages I remind
myself of my adoption into Christ.
■ When I sin, I remember nothing can
separate me from the love of Christ
because when I was dead in sin he still
died
11. Now YOUR turn
■ Do you feel and know you have really grasped the love God has for you ?
■ If you do/don’t - Remember all the times God has pulled you through
■ How do you cultivate a relationship with God through the holy spirit that we may
grasp the love of GOD toward you, spoken of in Ephesians and this week share
with one or two people.
