Kirsten Siksne has worked at Aalborg University since 2002, coordinating their international ranking activities since 2008. Kirsten Siksne, Librarian, has been employed at Aalborg University since 2002. Her main fields of
work are benchmarking, bibliometrics and rankings. She has been involved in several university
evaluations involving different performance indicators, bibliometric work in research policy and
evaluation activities, development and start-up of new priorities and strategic dissemination and
methods for supporting decision-making. She has worked full time for the university management
coordinating all international ranking activities at Aalborg University since 2008.

Aalborg University (AAU) was inaugurated in 1974 and is thus a young and modern governmental
university which, over the years, has grown to become a large, well-established research and
teaching institution in Denmark. AAU offers quite an untraditional range of educational
