11. • These are effectively electronic “seeing
aids” that amplify the level of light
falling on the eyes.
• They work particularly well in cases
where visual acuity has been reduced
through age, and are suited to night use.
• User can control contrast, zoom and
colour display.

20. Playing the Vivo Pro Special Edition Exercise
1. Vignette cards - choose one of the characters prepared for specifically for
consideration by Home Improvement Agencies
2. Concerns cards - these describe possible issues, risks and unmet needs of
the client. Select the cards that are relevant to the vignette
3. Solutions cards - each of these may be suitable as aids, adaptations or
service elements to help the client satisfy their goals. Select the ones that
are most appropriate in addressing the concerns identified above. They are
likely to be a combination of different opportunities, as few cases can be
completely solved using a single product.
4. Calculate the overall cost - these includes the cost of individual products,
installation, maintenance and digital subscriptions
5. Describe the cost avoidance - this involves estimating the outcome benefits
(to the social care and/or NHS commissioner)due to the provision of aids and
adaptations
