I have been doing some temp work whilst looking for a permanent suitable position in Sales or Marketing.
Six Month Contract - Direct Wholesale Foods - March 2014 - September 2014
After being made redundant DWF approached me and offered a six month contract as Leisure Account Manager
looking for new leisure business selling ice cream to new leisure accounts. In the six months I was there I
opened twenty two new accounts, I also negotiated frozen food and ice cream supply to a new vending concept
operating in London. And I was in negotiations with Hertsmere Council to tender for their 2015 business across
forty five venues.
Previous Employment – Unilever UK August 1998 – March 2014
OOH Category Executive – Customer Development Executive
I joined the business as Refrigeration and Sales Equipment Assistant. Purchasing of ancillary equipment and
monitoring budgets for both sales equipment and refrigeration. Implementing and communicating potential
benefits to the business of any new types of sales equipment. Utilization, refurbishment and delivery of existing
stock. I also managed the dissolution of supplying and maintaining sales equipment and communicating prices
and terms to the Sales Force and Customers.
Promoted in 2002 I was responsible for the planning and implementation of the point of sale display drive. I
communicated with our sales force, suppliers and designers obtaining ideas and quotations. Before ordering, I
helped to decide on supplier, checking quality of work/materials, cost and ensuring lead-time met the display
2. timetable implementation date. Since the departure of my immediate line manager I have been responsible for
the Service Shop, purchasing new items, storage, delivery and the development of the brochure.
I asked for a meeting with the Category Director and pitched for a budget to set up a website for Wall’s ice
cream. As project leader I successfully designed a retailer e-business for advertising materials and our product
range www.iceshop.co.uk
An internal job opportunity came up as Brand Builder for OOH, I managed to be a successful applicant and was
responsible for the brand management of Cornetto Soft, Carte D’Or and Soft Mix for the company, including
artwork approval via Pearl and sales presentations. Due to restructure I have now moved into a Category
Position where I am responsible for design, ordering and delivery of all Point of Sale material and monitoring
the £1.5 million POS budget. I also produce an Executive Summary on how our brands are performing in the
market so that the whole team is focused on where there are opportunities against our competitors.
I applied for an internal role as Customer Development Executive this was a field based role looking after
existing leisure business like the London Eye and Madam Tussauds and also looking for new leisure business
for Unilever. Whilst in this position I did a monthly presentation to the sales director called Your London Eye
with the run up to the royal wedding and the Olympics it gave us great insight and areas to target for new
business. As I was the only CDE in central London and mostly on foot I asked the sales director for an iPad as I
knew it would be most beneficial. After a 6 month trial and my feedback on the benefits to the business
Unilever decided to roll out across the entire sales force. I was asked to become part of the project team working
on the best system we could install on the iPad for monitoring new and existing sales opportunities and using
the iPad as a presenter. This set up took approximately 18 months and once installed I was involved in the
training implementation across the UK sales force.
