PROJECT REPORT GUIDLINES
1. INTRODUCTION
If you are writing a master's project report, READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY! It is detailed, deliberately redundant,
and hardly makes for leisure reading, but it contains the information that you will need for proper preparation of your
project report. All project reports must meet standards for filing with the university library. The supervisory committee
is obliged to subject every project report to close scrutiny for compliance with standards. Most project reports are
returned to the writer for correction of problems that could have been avoided by following the instructions in this
guidebook. In many cases, a document requires several review cycles. In the past, the time required to correct project
report errors has delayed the writer's graduation.
Old reports should be used as models only with care since some of these do not conform to accepted style. Following
a prior work can be very troublesome if that model is inconsistent with this document. The requirements described
herein are the ones that your project report must meet.
The project report must use Standard English grammar, sentence structure, word usage and punctuation. Project
report and is technical document, and, as a consequence, good technical writing techniques should be exercised. As
the project report is addressed to scholars, the writing should be scholarly and dignified in style. You and your project
report supervisory committee are responsible for insuring that the material is presented in acceptable scholarly style
and correct form. You are responsible for a final, accurate, proofreading of the report before it is brought to the
committee to obtain appropriate signatures.
2. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT
One finished copy of the project report must be submitted to committee. We recommend that you submit the project
report for a preliminary review before you make copy since identification and correction of problems at this point can
save your substantial time and money. Please realize that the final review of the project report cannot be performed
until copy is filed. You will be required to correct any problems that are detected in the final review.
3. PROJECT REPORT PREPERATION
i. Font Size & Style. Acceptable fonts are "Letter Gothic" (12), “Arial” (12), “Times New Roman” (12) and
"Courier" (10). Script-like type styles are NOT acceptable. Only one font style and printer should be used in
any given project report. Type styles used in figures, tables and the appendices need not be the same as
those used in the main body of the document; however, figure, table, and appendices titles should be in the
same font. Laser printing is mandatory. The report should have the following format:
• One (1) inch margin on all sides of the paper except for left side, which should be 1.5 inch
• Double line spacing
• Topic Headings 14 point
• Page numbers at center bottom of the page
• Appropriate complete citations to acknowledge your work (reader must be able to check your sources)
ii. Corrections. You are responsible for proofreading before the finished research report is presented to
members of your committee. In the unusual situation of insufficient time to correct typographical errors before
the oral examination, you should prepare a list of errors for each member of the committee and indicate that
these errors are to be corrected. If there are errors, the page with errors must be retyped.
iii. Printing. The final copy should be printed on a printer that produces letter quality, high-contrast, black
print. If drafts of the research report have been produced on a printer other than the one to be used for the
final printing, it is advisable to produce part of the project report on the alternate printer before the final
printing. Not all printers produce an identical copy. For example, margins which are acceptable on one printer
may violate guidelines on another printer.
iv. Paper. Paper must have at least 80 gms (white color) and letter size. Only one kind of paper may be used
in a given project report. If paper is purchased, the student should purchase sufficient paper at the beginning,
as it is unlikely that paper bought later will match exactly in color. Questionnaires, tests, computer printouts on
white printout paper, maps and other materials may be included in an appendix even though the paper may be
of poorer quality than that of the rest of the research report. The left hand margin, however, must be at least
1.5" for binding purposes.
v. Final Copy. After rectification of draft copy Final copy must be sharp and clear and free of grayness, spots,
and artifacts from the copy equipment or lines around the edges. The copy that the reproductions are made
from must be sharp and have high contrast. You are responsible for making certain that acceptable copies
are produced. No corrections of any sort are allowed on the final copy. The copy must be in leather binding.
vi. Symbols. Special symbols, which cannot be made by a word processor, are sometimes made in black ink
or with a very fine black felt tip pen; but, this should be avoided. If the project report contains special symbols,
the typing must be done on a word processor equipped with the symbols needed.
vii. Binding.
Draft copy dose not need hard binding you can use spiral binding for it.
The final copy of the project report must be bound in
• Dark green color for MBA
• Navy Blue color for BBA
Hard binding with Silver monogram and following text on outer title.(sample attached)
Put each copy in a MANILA CLASP ENVELOPE that is large enough for easy removal and replacement of
the project report. If a project report is longer than 250 pages, 8.5” x 11” boxes may be used
viii. Document Organization
The order of the required sections for project report submitted to the Supervisory Committee is as follows:
i. Flyleaf (blank sheet)
ii. Title Page (unnumbered but considered page i)
iii. Registration form (original)
iv. Approval Page (unnumbered)
v. Acknowledgments (optional)
vi. Symbols and Abbreviations (optional)
vii. Executive Summary
viii. Table of Contents
ix. List of Tables
x. List of Figures
1. Text (restart numbering at 1) (at least 30 pages)
2. Bibliography or References (Standard citation methods should be used)
3. Appendices
4. Evaluation Performa
5. Internship Certificate (photocopy)
6. Flyleaf (blank sheet)
ix. Project report text should include:
• Introduction of the organization, its structure, working etc.
• Topic on which you want to work
• Reason for picking the topic (Problem Statement)
• Literature review
• Assumptions
• Analysis and results
• Conclusions and Recommendations
x. DEPARTMENTAL EVALUATION
Report and comprehensive viva voce/presentation
4. Submission of Project Proposal
Before registration of topic a project proposal should be submitted to concerned supervisor

Project report and is technical document, and, as a consequence, good technical writing techniques should be exercised. As the project report is addressed to scholars, the writing should be scholarly and dignified in style. You and your project report supervisory committee are responsible for insuring that the material is presented in acceptable scholarly style and correct form. You are responsible for a final, accurate, proofreading of the report before it is brought to the committee to obtain appropriate signatures. 2. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT One finished copy of the project report must be submitted to committee. We recommend that you submit the project report for a preliminary review before you make copy since identification and correction of problems at this point can save your substantial time and money. Please realize that the final review of the project report cannot be performed until copy is filed. You will be required to correct any problems that are detected in the final review. 3. PROJECT REPORT PREPERATION i. Font Size & Style. Acceptable fonts are "Letter Gothic" (12), “Arial” (12), “Times New Roman” (12) and "Courier" (10). Script-like type styles are NOT acceptable. Only one font style and printer should be used in any given project report. Type styles used in figures, tables and the appendices need not be the same as those used in the main body of the document; however, figure, table, and appendices titles should be in the same font. Laser printing is mandatory. The report should have the following format: • One (1) inch margin on all sides of the paper except for left side, which should be 1.5 inch • Double line spacing • Topic Headings 14 point • Page numbers at center bottom of the page • Appropriate complete citations to acknowledge your work (reader must be able to check your sources) ii. Corrections. You are responsible for proofreading before the finished research report is presented to members of your committee. In the unusual situation of insufficient time to correct typographical errors before the oral examination, you should prepare a list of errors for each member of the committee and indicate that these errors are to be corrected. If there are errors, the page with errors must be retyped. iii. Printing. The final copy should be printed on a printer that produces letter quality, high-contrast, black print. If drafts of the research report have been produced on a printer other than the one to be used for the final printing, it is advisable to produce part of the project report on the alternate printer before the final printing. Not all printers produce an identical copy. For example, margins which are acceptable on one printer may violate guidelines on another printer. iv. Paper. Paper must have at least 80 gms (white color) and letter size. Only one kind of paper may be used in a given project report. If paper is purchased, the student should purchase sufficient paper at the beginning, as it is unlikely that paper bought later will match exactly in color. Questionnaires, tests, computer printouts on white printout paper, maps and other materials may be included in an appendix even though the paper may be of poorer quality than that of the rest of the research report. The left hand margin, however, must be at least 1.5" for binding purposes. v. Final Copy. After rectification of draft copy Final copy must be sharp and clear and free of grayness, spots, and artifacts from the copy equipment or lines around the edges. The copy that the reproductions are made from must be sharp and have high contrast. You are responsible for making certain that acceptable copies are produced. No corrections of any sort are allowed on the final copy. The copy must be in leather binding. vi. Symbols. Special symbols, which cannot be made by a word processor, are sometimes made in black ink or with a very fine black felt tip pen; but, this should be avoided. If the project report contains special symbols, the typing must be done on a word processor equipped with the symbols needed. vii. Binding. Draft copy dose not need hard binding you can use spiral binding for it.

The final copy of the project report must be bound in • Dark green color for MBA • Navy Blue color for BBA Hard binding with Silver monogram and following text on outer title.(sample attached) Put each copy in a MANILA CLASP ENVELOPE that is large enough for easy removal and replacement of the project report. If a project report is longer than 250 pages, 8.5” x 11” boxes may be used viii. Bibliography or References (Standard citation methods should be used) 3. Appendices 4. Evaluation Performa 5. Internship Certificate (photocopy) 6. Flyleaf (blank sheet) ix. Project report text should include: • Introduction of the organization, its structure, working etc. • Topic on which you want to work • Reason for picking the topic (Problem Statement) • Literature review • Assumptions • Analysis and results • Conclusions and Recommendations x. DEPARTMENTAL EVALUATION Report and comprehensive viva voce/presentation 4. Submission of Project Proposal Before registration of topic a project proposal should be submitted to concerned supervisor
