Renewable
Materials
Complex
A custom configured plant
complex based on regional
feedstock availability and
community location.
The complex includes energy
production from selected
feedstock & refining biomass
to produce bio based
manufacturing precursors and
construction infrastructure
materials.
5. BPS
Biomass
Processing
System
The BPS is the engineered
system for processing the
selected regional feedstock.
BPS uses a low heat, low energy
and self-sustaining system
designed for sustainability and
cost savings.
Hydrolysis, solvolysis, liquid-solid
separation, filtration, drying,
mixing, percolation, evaporation,
grinding, bleaching, pelletizing
and packaging are processes
used with the BPS.
6. L-CRRAM
module
Ligno-
Cellulosic
Residue
Refinery for
Advanced
Manufacturing
Biomass is refined and
processed into usable
manufacturing
precursors.
This refining system is
equipped to process
scrap residues produced
by cellulosic ethanol
plants.
L-CRRAM is able to
process and refine raw
feedstock such as corn
stover, switchgrass,
mescanthus, woody
biomass and other crops.

Bio-based talc (Bio-Talc)
is used as a filler for
injection molding and
concrete additive.
Pure lignin for bio-based
carbon fiber and bio-
based tar for blacktop
and road repair.
Sugars for new bio fuels
and high proof alcohol
production.

Biomass Gasification Energy System – Marquette
Green Energy.
BioCycle Partnerships with Marquette Green Energy
at KI Sawyer & America Biomass Technologies, Sao
Paulo, Brazil.
100% Renewable softwood tree feedstock - Willow &
Poplar trees in Michigan, Eucalyptus trees in Brazil.
BioCycle’s L-CRRAM Refinery projects underway in
Brazil and Michigan.
14. BWGES Module - Urban
Biosolids Waste Gasification Energy System
BioCycle is working with Metropolitan Biosolids
Management (MBM), LLC from Chicago, Illinois.
Collaborative projects using this Renewable
Materials Complex (RMC) model are under
development in Chicago, Seattle & San Jose.
Biosolid dry energy pellets are derived from
wastewater reclamation from sludge & landfill
waste processing.
15. AFEX module
MBI is developing a 3rd generation prototype (12-24
months) Ammonia Fiber Expansion system.
AFEX is a pre-treatment system for raw corn stover,
switchgrass, mescanthus, wheat straw, rice straw &
similar grasses and annual crops.
AFEX produces pellets which have 3 potential purposes:
1. Livestock feed 2. Ethanol fuel production 3. L-CRRAM
processing into manufacturing & building materials.
BioCycle is working with ABT in Brazil to experiment with
AFEX pre-treatment on softwoods for producing
gasification energy pellets more efficiently. Currently
AFEX is not ideal for softwoods.
