1. To whom it may concern:
This letter serves to state the accomplishments as well as true character of Kendall
Stelting, Baker University legacy and student. I have known Kendall for upwards of two years
and feel confident in attesting to her character and the potential she holds as not only a stand
up citizen, but future educator.
Before coming to Baker University, Kendall was very involved with her high school. She
graduated in the top 100 of her class with a 3.9 GPA. She accomplished this all while being an
Honor Bar Thespian, served as the Choir President, freshmen mentor, and played the lead role
in several musicals. Kendall’s musical ability is astonishing as she was named the Olathe South
Choir Member of the Year. Her dedication to the theater department at Olathe South carries
over into her dedication to Baker University. If Kendall is passionate about something, she will
stick with it until the very end. This attribute will work wonders in her career as an educator
and will inspire her future students to become the best they can be.
Kendall served as the Vice President of Risk Management for Alpha Chi Omega last year.
During her term on the executive board, she showcased her leadership skills. Kendall is a kind,
caring, and compassionate leader—all characteristics that will make a fantastic elementary
school teacher. Kendall had to handle several difficult situations, including confronting her
peers, giving strict rules to members older than her, and ensuring the safety of her sorority
sisters at all sanctioned events. Kendall handled these intense interactions with grace and
humility. Her peers respect her as a leader and view her as a trustworthy confidant. This year,
Kendall will serve as the Vice President of Chapter Relations for Alpha Chi Omega. She will be
second in command, only behind our Chapter President. As only a sophomore in college,
Kendall has made a name for herself among the Greek community and has proved herself a
force to be reckoned with.
Along with being a leader in the Greek community at Baker University, Kendall is a
leader amongst the Education department. Kendall works hard to ensure her spot in the
program, competing with her peers to show her competence in teaching. She takes every
assignment seriously and is adept at meeting deadlines. Kendall strives to do the right thing
even when no one is looking. This proves her rock solid morals as well as true character. I have
shared classes with Kendall and observed how attentive and organized she is in the classroom.
Kendall is polite, but assertive in groups and works extremely well with others. With children,
she is kind but firm and presents the material clearly so there is no confusion for the students.
Kendall lights up every room with her personality. She never fails to make everyone smile and
feel welcomed.
Overall, Kendall Stelting is an outstanding human being. I am honored to be associated
with her and call her not only my sorority sister, but friend. I have no doubt that she will
succeed as a teacher and lead a very fulfilling life. I look forward to seeing the heights she will
seek throughout her lifetime.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Kristen Shaw
