To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Kelly Haynes. Kelly was a student in my American
Government course during the second Summer session 2013 at Collin College. She was one of the most
outstanding students in the class and is well deserving of being in the Honors program and receiving any
scholarship that she seeks.
Kelly distinguished herself in class by not missing one class session. She always arrived early and
engaged in each class throughout the session. Kelly took good notes. She also was a frequent contributor
to class discussions. She posed challenging and interesting questions that helped others gain insight into
the material. Kelly’s performance on exams and discussion forums in the class was excellent. She often
scored the maximum possible. Her writing is clear and goes well beyond what is expected. Additionally
Kelly made two presentations to the class—one as part of a group and another as an individual—both
were excellent. As one can see,Kelly is an exceptional student. Her 3.6 GPA (which is probably higher
now) prior to my class shows a pattern of excellence.
Kelly’s goal of becoming a digital archivist is a unique and valuable one. She seeks to combine a major in
Information Science with a minor in History to achieve this goal. Kelly is a highly motivated and self-
disciplined individual. She was always well prepared for my class, and I would expect that to be the case
for future classes. Kelly will be a student who completes her degree, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to
see her seek a higher degree. I am confident other professors will share my assessment of her.
Kelly is a nice and outgoing individual. She arrived early for class and often visited with classmates. Her
classmates showed great respect for Kelly and viewed her as a leader in the class. Kelly juggles family
responsibilities with being an excellent student, and she does both well. That says a lot about her ability to
set priorities and follow-through.
So I commend Kelly Haynes with my highest recommendation. She will be a great investment and a
successfulindividual. Please feelfree to contact me if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
