Work Experience:
Prospective Student Support Analyst August 2012-May 2013
Eastern University, St. Davids, PA: Admissions Office
During my freshman year at Eastern University, I worked in the admissions office under Dave
Hoger and Besty Ferris. Throughout the year, I called students and generated applications and
deposits. My job was not only to call future students and get them to apply, but I also spent time
getting to know the students and then relaying information to their admissions counselor, so that
the counselor could contact the student on their own.
Assistant to Admissions Counselor: Mike Wilson August 2013-present
Eastern University, St. Davids, PA: Admissions Office
As an assistant to Mike Wilson, a senior admissions counselor, I handle his incoming applications
and all inquired students. I deal with phone calls, emails, and mailings. I attempt to generate more
applications and deposits for Eastern University by calling students and informing them about
Eastern. I am passionate and driven. I handle every task given to me with care and a professional
attitude.
Intern for Renaissance Communications, Inc. Summer 2015
Additional Experience:
Besides my work experience at Eastern University in the admissions office, I have been on many
mission trips, completed hours of volunteer work, created a ministry, and worked as a leader within
the church I regularly attend. Below you will find the different projects I have been a leader within
or had a part in:
Church Leadership/Church Outreach:
2009-present: I am a worship leader at the church I regularly attend, Pascack Bible Church
(Hillsdale, NJ). This type of leadership involves putting a worship set together and putting a team
together to lead with. I also put together a short testimony to lead the congregation into worship.
I have also helped put together two different worship nights that took place at Pascack Bible
Church. During these two worship nights, not only did I sing on the worship team, but I also gave a
short (10-12 minute) sermon for the congregation. On two separate occasions, I gave a short
sermon (10-12 minutes) during our churches Christmas Outreach which brings in about 300-400
people.
Outside of church, my three friends and I began our own outreach that lasted four years. We called
our outreach "Saturday Nights" and we invited our friends, some Christians and some non-
Christians, had planned activities/games and gave a short lesson from the Bible each time. Not
only did we have a "Saturday Night" each weekend over the summer, but we continued them
2. through the school year but only had them every other weekend. We also put together "All Day
Saturday" which was a way to end each summer with an entire Saturday we planned with different
activities for people to come to.
Northern Valley High School Demarest:
I played softball for almost ten years. I was the pitcher on not only my recreation teams but also
my travel teams and in high school I was the starting pitcher. In high school I was captain for both
my Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. My senior year, I was awarded the senior “Colette Nolan
Softball Award” (2012) for exceptional leadership and teamwork.
Eastern University:
Besides my work in the admissions office at Eastern University, I was in the Chaplain program for
two years. As a chaplain, I was a spiritual leader on my floor for the thirty nine other girls living on
my floor. I planned and lead a weekly Bible study for the floor and dealt with any situations my
residents may have been going through or needed advice on.
Last year, during my spring semester (2014), I made a meeting with the President of the university
in order to discuss with him different ways we could improve Eastern University. I then set up a
meeting with the Vice President of the university to discuss in further detail some of my ideas. I
was then asked to be the only student to participate and pitch my ideas to the Master Planning Task
Force on campus. This company is in charge of the twenty year plan for Eastern and I sat in on
meetings to give the students perspective on the campus. I also participated in the Board of
Trustees meeting in order to voice the student’s opinion about the Master Plan under consideration.
Activities and Community Service:
MissionTrips:
2007: Biloxi, MS (Rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina)
2008: Biloxi, MS (Rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina)
2009: East Chicago, IL (Fixing up homes in poverty)

2007-present: Volunteer for Birthright (Crisis pregnancy center) in Bergen County, NJ
2012 (Fall Semester): Volunteer work at Philabundance, a local food bank
2007-present: Vacation Bible School - I started as an assistant crew leader my first year
volunteering. My second year, I started working with the Sing and Play team. This team is on stage
to start the morning and end the day. We act, sing, and dance as we teach kids the different Bible
verses, Bible points, songs, and dances. In 2012, I co-led the team and then in 2013 took the team
on completely. I also led the team last year. This type of leadership included leading a team of five
other teens on stage with me, making sure the morning and afternoon sessions for my station were
put together, and having lines/dances/songs memorized and teaching these to the rest of the team.
2015: Volunteer at the ECA (Eastern Communication Association) Conference in Philadelphia, PA

To whom itmay concern,
My name is Mike Wilson, and I amthe Senior Admissions Counselor atEastern University in St. Davids,PA. I am
writingto recommend DanielleSemsey for your summer internship program. I’ve had the privilegeof working with
Danielleover the courseof the pastthree years, and I could not recommend a student more highly.
Daniellehas worked in the Eastern University Undergraduate Admissions offices sinceher freshman year and has
been my personal assistantfor the pasttwo years. Each year, our offices employ roughly 50 student workers, 5-7 of
whom are selected by the admissionsstaff to work more closely with specific counselors.Theseselect few are put in
directcontact with university prospectivestudents and are entrusted with the more intricatedetai ls of recruitingand
interactingwith applicants and campus visitors.
Of the more than 200 student workers I have observed over the past5 years in my roleat Eastern, Danielleis by far
the best of the best. She has phenomenal conversational skills and a uniqueability to make any prospective student
feel at ease and welcome at the university,no matter how dissimilar or alikethatindividual may beto herself. This is
true in both face-to-face interactions and over the phone. Her personality is very caring, very genuine, very
empathetic, and very hospitable.
Anytime I have given Daniellea project, itgets done in a timely and exceptional fashion. She not only completes
projects, but she is very thoughtful and brilliantin doingthem, always lookingto make processes more efficient and
better. As a result, she goes above and beyond for our prospectivestudents. Further, I cannot tell you how many
times she has taken a project, refined it,and produced an outcome ten times better than what I was hoping for
originally.Daniellebrings a creative,sharp intuition and a detail-oriented mind to the table,always thinkingtwo or
three steps ahead of what she is actually workingon at the time.
I think what I have come to respect most about Danielleis that she does everything with excellence, yet does so with
great humility. If she sees something that could be done better, she doesn’t sitback and complain.Instead, she
communicates well and works to make it better. If another student worker is strugglingwi th something, she will go
out of her way to help, all whilemakingthatindividual feel likethey are the most importantperson in the room at
that time. To say that she is good with people is a massiveunderstatement. She is one of very few students who have
been invited to personally shareopinions both with the Board of Directors and with the President of the university.
She has been a voice for our student body at Eastern, and I think this is due, in no small part,to her excellent abilities
to both articulateherself very well and know her audience.
I have worked with thousands of 18-22 year olds, and I would be hard-pressed to find someone her age who could
match Danielle’s maturity and professionalism. For these reasons and many more, I’m not sure I could offer a
stronger recommendation for someone so deserving of a great internship program.
If you would liketo discussanythingabovein further detail or have any questions atall, pleasefeel free to contact
me anytime concerningDanielle.
Best regards,
Mike Wilson

I count it a distinct pleasure to tell you a little bit about Danielle Semsey. I have known Danielle
for more than ten years, and throughout that time she has consistently impressed me as being
unusually mature, capable and dependable for her age.
She possesses a unique ability to lead her peers as well as others. Because of this I have
entrusted her with several different volunteer leadership responsibilities which normally would
have been handled by older adults. She has always done an exceptional job, clearly
demonstrating that my trust in her was more than warranted.
As anyone around her will quickly see, she possesses a natural communication style that is
engaging. While just a sophomore in high school I tapped her to be one of the primary speakers
at a large public event our church sponsored. She blew me away with her stage presence and
communication skills. She exhibited the skills of someone with far more extensive public
speaking ability than she has.
She is a very dedicated worker with peers and others, and a terrific formal and informal leader.
She can be counted on to bring to completion any project she is working on. She has excellent
attention to detail. We have trusted her to lead major components of our children’s and youth
ministry departments.
There is so much more I could say about her, but let summarize it this way; in my 25 years of
working with teenagers she is the single most outstanding young woman I have had the
opportunity to know. I completely trust in her character and ability, and would be overjoyed to
have her be a part of my staff should an appropriate opening become available.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should like additional information about Danielle.
Very Respectfully,
Chet Klope
